About this race
Event Overview
On Sunday, October 25, 2026, Sharsheret will gather hundreds of thrivers, caregivers, friends, and supporters on the beach for our 5th Annual West Coast Dash in support of our breast and ovarian cancer work. Our run/walk will include a 5K Race, 10K Race, Family Fun Race, Virtual Race, and Event Festival. Contributions excluding the value of race entry tickets are tax-deductible.
Schedule for Race Day
- 6:00am: Parking Lots Open – First 200 cars will receive a free parking pass. Parking is $13. Please have cash available to expedite the process.
- 7:00am: Registration and Festival Opens (Recommended 5K/10K arrival time)
- 8:00am: Welcome and Opening ceremony.
- 10:00am: Awards Ceremony

- BEACH CLEAN UP: Help us leave Dockweiler Beach cleaner than we found it! Join Shemesh Farms for a group beach clean up directly following the Dash.
Directions to Dockweiler Beach
12000 Vista Del Mar, Playa Del Rey, CA 90293. Waze and Apple Maps may misdirect you. Please follow the instructions below:
- Freeway Route: From 405N and 405S: Take the 105 Imperial Hwy past LAX towards the beach. Beach entry is at the end of Imperial Hwy where it passes Vista Del Mar.
- City Streets from North: Take Pershing Drive south (NOTE: Vista Del Mar will be closed North of Imperial Highway on race morning) until it hits Imperial Hwy. Make a right into the beach entry.
- City Streets from South: Take Vista Del Mar north until it hits Imperial Hwy. Make a left into the beach entry.
Parking Information
- Free Parking: The first 200 cars will receive a free parking pass. Parking is $13 per car.
- Arrival: Please let the parking attendant know that you are with the event and be prepared with cash.
- Parking Lots: There are three parking lots. We recommend parking in the 2nd lot, which is a 5-minute walk to the race start line and festival.
- 3rd Lot: Very limited parking: reserved for volunteers and those who require wheelchairs or other special needs. No exit from this lot until all races are complete.

- Healthcare Hero: Dr. Debra Mund is a Diagnostic Radiologist and Breast Imaging Specialist at Providence Saint John’s Health Center.
- Community Heroes: Lisa and Josh Hofheimer will be recognized for their inspiring efforts on behalf of Sharsheret, cancer, and Los Angeles communities.
- Young Leaders Award: Adena Frenkel and Nessia Gottlieb are passionate community builders and longtime supporters of Sharsheret.
- Impact: Their commitment to connection and impact makes them fitting recipients of the inaugural Sharsheret West Young Leader Award.
Race Entry Details
Run or walk on this fully paved course at Dockweiler Beach, just steps from the ocean with a cool morning breeze and incredible coastal views. Join us at the race festival with food, refreshments, entertainment, and more, while helping to raise funds for those facing breast cancer, ovarian cancer, or at elevated genetic risk.
- 5K / 10K: Race entry tickets include a race t-shirt and finisher’s medal. Both races will be chip timed.
- Family Fun Race (1K): Open to ages 1 and up, includes a race t-shirt and medal. This race will not be chip timed.
- Virtual Race: Join us from anywhere around the country. Race tickets purchased by October 7th will receive a race t-shirt by mail.
- Team Captain: Become a Team Captain for your family, friends, school, or company. Win awesome prizes and make your miles meaningful.
