🏃‍♀️ Event Overview

Amigos De Bolsa Chica, in conjunction with Bolsa Chica State Beach, is hosting a run/walk/beach cleanup. The categories include:

• 5K: A standard distance run.
• 10K: A longer distance for more experienced runners.
• 1K Fun Run: A short distance ideal for kids and families.
• Plogging: The 5K and 10K events include litter pickup.

🏖️ Course and Proceeds

Run and walk along the beach on a flat and fast course. Proceeds help the Amigos de Bolsa Chica's (a 501c3 non-profit established in 1976) effort to offer environmental leadership roles to all by providing community-based education programs centered on the Bolsa Chica that create greater awareness of coastal California's threatened biodiversity.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family Friendly Expo

There is a family-friendly expo at the basketball courts with demonstrations about what Amigos de Bolsa Chica is all about. Activities include:

• Microscope Water Samples: Examine Bolsa Chica water samples.
• Learn About Wetlands: Discover the importance of local wetlands.
• Bird Education: Information on the birds that visit the area.
• Environmental Protection: Learn how to protect the environment.

🕖 Check-In and Start Times

Check-in begins at 7am at the basketball courts at Bolsa Chica State Beach. The schedule is as follows:

• 5K and 10K: Start at 8am.
• Kids Fun Run: Begins at 9am.

🏅 Race Features

• All-American Race Course: Flat and fast.
• Chip Timing: Provided for 5K and 10K (not for kids fun run).
• Race T-shirts: Guaranteed only for pre-registration by March 15.
• Participation Medal: Awarded at the finish line.
• Free Parking: Available at Bolsa Chica State Beach before 8am ($15 value).
