🎅 Santa Claus with a Cause 5K/10K

Join us on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, at Bolsa Chica State Beach for a full-blown Santa Celebration and Christmas-themed race! Everything is Christmas-themed with live carolers, snow falling, and water and candy canes waiting for you at the finish! Choose from a Santa beanie, full Santa suit, or custom race shirt. Finish medals feature a beach scene with Santa that can be turned into ornaments—prepare for the biggest and best finisher medals ever!

🍪 Fun Food at the Finish

• Prices: Bring $ for fun food at the finish.
• Specialty Drinks: Enjoy specialty coffees and hot chocolate.
• Sweet Treats: $4 Christmas cookies, $8 scrumptious fresh fruit.
• Street Tacos & Tamales: FAMOUS tacos and tamales at $3 each: proceeds help the GIFT BACK portion of this race.

⏰ Race Schedule

• 8:00 am: Kid's Dash.
• 8:30 am: MASS START for 5K/10K.
• Rain or Shine: The event takes place regardless of weather. Easy ups will be erected if needed.
• Location: Bolsa Chica State Beach, Huntington Beach, CA.

📋 Picking Up Bibs & Shirts

Pick up shirts and race bibs on race day at the Race Expo site (lot 25) from 6:30 am to 8:15 am or at pre-packet pick-up.

Early Packet Pick-Up: Thursday, December 12, 2024, from 3:30 pm to 7 pm at Road Runner Sports, 1835 Newport Blvd, Costa Mesa, CA 92627. You may pick up for others: no ID is required.

🚗 Parking Information

The state park charges $15 per vehicle. Bring cash or your state park pass for quicker entry. Enter at the main gate and proceed to lot 25. Carpool if you can!

We stage the race in lot 25 where you can be dropped off at the corner of Warner and PCH. Outside parking lots are also available in Sunset Beach behind the Jack in the Box.

🔥 Race Day Excitement

Race day starts at 6:30 am with registration and continues with:

• 7:00 am - 9 am: The Real Santa will be available for selfies!
• 8:00 am: Kid's shorter distance races.
• 8:20 am: THE PENGUIN warm-up! Join in for the best Christmas-themed spirit and attire awards.
• Race Start Time: 8:30 am for 5K/10K. Your time starts when you cross the starting arch!

🏆 Awards

Awards are given out in “In It To Win It” age categories with 5-year spans. Top overall awards and age division medals will be provided, along with special prizes for the best costumes and the best-dressed dog!

All participants will receive a finisher medal that turns into a festive ornament. Enjoy professional RFID chip timing during both races!

💖 Giving Back

This event gifts back! Proceeds assist those who otherwise wouldn’t experience a Christmas, with funds directed toward staple goods for those in need.
