- 8:00 am: Half Marathon Start
- 8:15 am: Kid's Dash
- 8:30 am: 5k/10K Mass Start
📦 Early Packet Pick-Up
- Date & Time: Saturday, December 27th, 11am to 2pm
- Location: Road Runner Sports in Newport Beach, 1835 Newport Blvd, Costa Mesa, CA 92627
- Note: Packet pick-up is optional, so if you cannot make it- don't worry. Packets can be picked up on race day starting at 7 am in LOT 25. The gates to the STATE PARK open at 6 am.
📝 Race Day Information
Write a New Year resolution on the back of your bib and RUN, JOG, or WALK it into the new year. The course is the flat and fast, paved, wide State Park path, watching and listening to the surf! Whether an avid runner, jogger, first-timer, or walker, we are the something for every BODY & EVERYBODY best-themed race! Bring family and friends, or just yourself and shoes! Let's get 2024 off and RUNNING.
- Entry Includes: Run In The New Year CUSTOM 5K/10K T-Shirt
- Special Offer: LONG SLEEVE DESIGN T-shirt for Half Marathon Finishers
- Medals: A huge CUSTOM CAST finisher medal to all!
- Post-Race Party: (Beach balls, New Year’s Beanies, & party Champagne glasses will be for sale at the t-shirt table.)
🎟️ Entrance Details
The event is in the farthest western lot- Lot 25, closest to Warner & PCH, but to enter the park use the following address: 17851 Pacific Coast Hwy.
- Fee: BRING $15 CASH (or a park pass) to make the gate line proceed quickly. Credit cards slow the process.
- Parking: FREE OR METERED PARKING behind the Jack and the Box (corner of Warner and PCH) is available. DO NOT PARK in the shopping lot or at the gas station.
📋 Race Day Schedule
- 6:00 am: Gates Open
- 7:00 am: Race Day Packet Pick-Up Begins (Lot 25)
- 7:30 am: Half Marathon Start for those that will take more than 3 hours and 45 minutes to finish
- 8:00 am: Half Marathon Start (Must cross the starting arch by 8:05 am)
- 8:15 am: Kid’s Dash
- 8:30 am: 5K/10K Mass Start (Must cross the starting arch by 9:05 am)
- 9:00 am: 5K Awards Ceremony begins.
- 9:30 am: 10K awards
- 9:50 am: Announcing of overall Half marathon awards
- Note: Half marathon age division winners can pick up division awards at the table or wait until the 10:15 age division announcements.
🥞 Pancake Breakfast
SPECIAL PANCAKE BREAKFAST!!!! The famous KIWANIS pineapple/coconut pancakes at this EVENT!!! $5 pre. $6 on race morning. Visit the SOL Y LUNA COFFEE BAR CART, Fresh baked cookies (GALLETINAS BOOTH), fresh cut fruits, and street tacos will be there. BRING EXTRA MONEY FOR ACAI BOWLS!!! Fresh made at the Acai Republic booth.
🏅 Awards
There are “In It To Win It” age categories 3 deep with 5 year age spans: 1-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84 and 85 & over.
🏃♂️ Course Information
Flat and fast, or slow and easy, make it the pace you want it. This 5K/10K course runs along the beach bike path at Bolsa Chica, Huntington Beach State Beach. Families can bring strollers but agree to use at their own risk.
- Half Marathon Course: Flat, fast, perfect for PRs or training for your next marathon. It is 2 loops of the 10k so you get plenty of aid stations, entertainment, and spectator friendly!
- Aid Stations: Every 1.5 Miles (Water/Gatorade, Chargel/Bananas)
- Suggested For: First-time Half Marathoners or those wanting to PR!
- Spectators: You can be at the finish line to see runners start then walk about 50 ft towards the runners to see them go on their second loop.
🚻 Facilities
Restrooms on RACE DAY: are located at each end of the parking lot. A set by Sea Legs (east) and a set near Warner Blvd on the west end of the parking lot.
