Saturday, December 21st, 2024
The Winter Solstice marks the shortest day and longest night of the year. It occurs when one of the Earth's poles is tilted farthest from the Sun, usually around December 21st or 22nd in the Northern Hemisphere. This day is significant because it represents a turning point: after the Winter Solstice, the days gradually become longer as the Sun starts its journey back toward the Northern Hemisphere. Join us for a run on the most magical day of the year.
Parking Details: Bolsa Chica State Beach charges $15 per vehicle. To avoid delays, bring cash or your state park pass to streamline the entry process. Enter through the main gate, then head west until you reach Lot 25, which is the furthest lot on the right, located near the intersection of Warner Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). The park entrance is at 17851 Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach, CA 92649, and the gate opens at 6 AM. Carpooling is highly recommended.
Alternatively, you can be dropped off at the corner of Warner and PCH, just steps away from the event area in Lot 25. If you’d like to skip the parking fee, public parking is available in Sunset Beach behind the Jack in the Box at 17243 Pacific Coast Highway. Please avoid parking in private or gas station lots. Note that the western gate to the state park is closed, so all vehicles must use the main entrance for access.
