🎉 Welcome to the Rocket City Kids Marathon
Kids can be part of the Rocket City Marathon excitement by participating in the Rocket City Kids Marathon, a non-competitive event for children in grades K - 8! Students become marathon finishers on race day by completing the final mile of a cumulative marathon training program in the weeks leading up to the race.
🏃♂️ Program Details
- Duration: 14-week running program
- Distance: 26.2 miles total, completed by running approximately 1.75 miles per week
- Final Event: Completes in front of cheering fans, friends, and family at the Official Finish Line of the Rocket City Marathon
- Location: Inside the South Hall of the Von Braun Center
🌟 Goals of the Marathon
The goal of the Rocket City Kids Marathon is to Inspire and Encourage children to be active on a regular basis through running and physical activity.
📅 Training Requirements
- Preparation: Train for the last mile by running a total of 25.2 miles in various increments
- Individual Training: Miles are accumulated individually by each child at home, at school, or with family or friends
- Support: Coaches, PE teachers, and parents can encourage children to track their miles
- Events: Mileage Boosters held one Saturday a month in September, October and November

Donations are welcome using the "DONATE" button to support the Scholarship Program.
👕 Participation Details
The Kids Marathon is for all students in grades kindergarten-8th grade. Participants will receive a Race T-shirt, and finishers will receive a medal.
