Conquer the Cave 5K

Race Overview

• Date: September 20, 2026
• Location: 637 Cave Rd, Woodville, AL
• Terrain: Starts in a beautiful valley with mountains and fields, featuring a section through a cave.
• Course Length: 5K (3.1 miles) including a 0.6 mile out and back segment in the cave.

Cave Experience

• 1.9 Mile Mark: Runners enter the crown jewel of caves in the Southeast.
• Course Width: Wide enough for 2-way traffic within the cave.
• Glow Sticks: Runners pick up a glow stick at the turnaround point.
• Lighting: Decorative lighting will be on at all times inside the cave.

• Average Temperatures: Low of 54F, High of 79F on race day.
• Cave Temperature: A cool 58F year-round.
• Unique Experience: This race is unlike any other.

Packet Pickup

• Location: RunningLane at 2407 Memorial Pkwy SW, Huntsville, AL 35801.
• Dates:
  • Friday, September 18th from 2-7 PM
  • Saturday, September 19th from 10:30 AM-4:30 PM
• Race Day Pickup: Sunday from 7:00 AM-10:00 AM.
• Recommendation: Please arrive 1 hour before your wave start.

Race Heats

• Multiple Waves: Due to the size of the cave, there will be multiple heats or "waves" of 200 runners each.
• Wave Schedule:
  • 9:00 AM: 1st Wave
  • 9:30 AM: 2nd Wave
  • 10:00 AM: 3rd Wave
  • 10:30 AM: 4th Wave
  • 11:00 AM: 5th Wave
• Wave Selection: Please check with family and friends on which wave to participate in before registering.
• Finishing Times: You must stick to your wave assignment. If you do not run in the wave you signed up for, you will not receive a finishing time.
