Rocket City Marathon Race Weekend – Huntsville, Alabama

For over 48 years, the Rocket City Marathon, organized by the Huntsville Track Club, has been one of the premier marathon events in the South.

📅 Race Weekend Schedule

• Health & Fitness Expo: Opens Friday, December 12th, at 2:00 PM and runs through Saturday, December 13th at 6:00 PM.
• 10K: Starts at 7:00 AM in front of the Von Braun Center on Monroe Street: flat, fast, and walker-friendly course through Old Town.
• 5K: Begins at 9:00 AM, winding through Downtown Huntsville.
• 1 Mile Family Friendly FUN RUN/WALK: Starts at 10:30 AM, offering everyone a fun and rewarding experience.

🏅 Marathon Day Details

Sunday – Marathon Day

• Start Time: The Rocket City Marathon kicks off at 7:00 AM (with an early start at 6:00 AM for those requiring extra time).
• Course Highlights: Showcases Huntsville’s charm, taking runners through Downtown, Old Town, the Medical District, Blossomwood, Maple Hill Cemetery, the historic Train Depot, the Veteran’s Memorial, and Campus 805.
• Finish Line: Marathoners will enjoy a unique indoor finish back at the VBC, along with delicious post-race food and complimentary post-race stretching.

🎁 Runner Perks

• Race Essentials: All registered runners will receive a long-sleeve race shirt, a finisher medal, post-race food, and bragging rights for completing Rocket City Marathon Race Weekend!
• Special Gifts: Marathoners and Half Marathoners will receive a special finisher gift.
• The Hat Trick: Participants taking on three events will earn a RCM hat.
