26th Annual McElveen Race For The ARK

🏃‍♂️ Race Information

Registration OPENS on May 1, 2025 for the 26th Annual McElveen Race for The ARK. The race is set for Saturday, August 23 in Downtown Summerville. The ARK provides comprehensive support services to families living with Alzheimer’s or related dementia.

📅 Race Details

• Type: This race includes a 5K run/walk and 1-mile fun run – both races begin and end at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 206 Central Avenue in Summerville.
• Start Times: The 5K begins at 7:45 a.m. and the 1-mile fun run kicks off at 8:45 a.m.
• Course: The USATF-certified course winds through historic downtown Summerville.
• Awards: Awards will be given to the top three overall male and female winners as well as in several age groups. Plus, $100 will be awarded to the first male and female to break the course records (15:40 male and 17:51 female).

💵 Registration Fees

• Before Aug. 21: Registration is $35 with T-shirt for the 5K run/walk, $25 without T-shirt, and $10 for the 1-mile fun run or $30 for a family of four (without T-shirts).
• Packet Pickup: Registration and packet pickup will be from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22 at The ARK House and from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. on-site race day.
• Race Day Registration: During packet pickup and on race day, registration for the 5K is $40. For the 1-mile fun run, it’s $15 or $35 for a family of four (without T-shirts).
• Corporate Challenge: Businesses can create teams of five or more as part of the Corporate Challenge. The cost is $500.

🏆 Corporate Challenge 2025

• Team Entry: Enter one 5-member team in The ARK's 5K Run/Walk. This is a great event to build team unity and have fun.
• Award: The winning team (combined best times) will receive a hand-crafted traveling trophy to display at their business or organization for one year. Each team member is also eligible for individual awards.
• Course Information: The race/walk starts and ends at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 206 Central Avenue in Summerville with three water stations.
• Event Status: This is a RAIN or SHINE event.

📑 Requirements

• Cost: $500 per team (contact The ARK for promo code).
• Logo Submission: Your corporate logo must be submitted electronically (jpg or pdf) at the time of your entry, black and white logos only.
• Entries: Your corporation or organization will receive 5 entries in the 5K Run and your logo will appear on the back of the official race T-shirt.
• Promotional Opportunities: Opportunity to provide promotional items in runners’ bags. Items due by August 15th.
