13th Annual Outrun the Cops 5K Run/Walk

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

Join us Saturday, June 28, 2025 for the 13th Annual Outrun the Cops 5k run/walk & 10K run for charity!

Proceeds benefit the Lake County Children's Advocacy Center.

This timed event begins and ends at the Gurnee Police Department with majority of the course on the Des Plaines River Trail. (The trail is crushed limestone, aid stations are positioned throughout the trail with water and sports drinks. Water, sports drinks, and snacks are also provided at the finish line.)

Registration fees:

• 5K Walk/Run: $45 (Includes T Shirt if registered by June 1st)
• 10K Run: $55 (Includes T Shirt if registered by June 1st)
• Children: 10 and under are free with paid adult registration

Race Day Registration Begins: 7:00 AM
Race Start Time: 8:00 AM

Medals awarded to the top 3 males and top 3 females for the following age groups:

• 12 & under
• 13 – 19
• 20-29
• 30-39
• 40-49
• 50-59
• 60-69
• 70 AND OVER

• When is Packet pick-up? You can pick up your packet at the Gurnee Police Department on Friday, June 27th from 7:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. We are located at 100 N O'Plaine Rd, Gurnee IL 60031. Packets will also be available on race day.
• Do you really get to OUTRUN the COPS? Yes! Gurnee Police Officers and Police Officers from surrounding communities will participate in the run. They line up at the rear of the race and they try to beat you to the finish line.
• Can I wear a costume? Yes! Cops chase robbers so feel free to wear running attire or themed costumes.
• What are my parking options for the event? Free Parking - Available at the Warren High School on O'Plaine Rd.

This fundraiser is a collaborative effort between Gurnee Fraternal Order of Police Social Lodge #266 and the Lake County Children’s Advocacy Center (LCCAC).
