3rd Annual Lover's Lane Valentine Boardwalk 5k

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

Join the Seashore Striders for their opening event of the new year with a 5k out and back course beginning on the boardwalk and running north to the turn-a-round at Gordon's Pond, Cape Henlopen State Park. Join the fun as we have the traditional individual 5k division.

👶 Kids Fun Run

• KIDS 1/4 MILE FUN "CUPID" RUN: Free with no registration required and no t-shirt.
• Time: At 9:50 am the kids' will race 200m north on the boardwalk and 200m south to the finish line as the 5k runners gather by the finish and cheer on the young runners.

Kids Dash @ 9:50 and 5k at 10 am.

💲 Race Registration

• Individual 5k Registration Fees:
  • $30.00 Early-Registration through February 9th at midnight
  • $35.00 Race Week from February 10th at 12:01 am - February 14th at 10:00 pm.
  • $40.00 Race Day "Last Chance" February 15th Registration from 8:30 am - 9:45 am
  Note: Please note that expenses in Rehoboth Beach (Police, Bandstand & Permit Fees) are higher than other locations so we have no choice but to raise our event registration fee. We thank you for your understanding.
• Ways to Register:
  • Online Registration through RUNSIGNUP at this site.
  • Race Day/On-Site Registration usually begins 1 hour before the event.
  • Mail-In Registration using a Universal Entry Form downloaded from the Seashore Strider Event Page.

🏅 Race Course

3.11 mile out & back course from the Boardwalk at Rehoboth Avenue to the entrance of Cape Henlopen State Park at Gordon's Pond.

⚠️ Course Etiquette

• Follow Directions: All participants are required to run on the course marked with arrows and cones.
• Stay on the Road: Please stay on the road where it is marked and police are stationed.
• Cooperation: Failure to follow these race instructions could result in disqualification.

🏃‍♀️ Safety Guidelines

• Bikes: Not allowed on the course.
• Bandits: Non-registered runners are not allowed to pace registered runners.
• Headphones: Discouraged for safety reasons.

⏱️ Race Timing

Seashore Strider Event Production will chip time the event using the Chronotrack chip timing system.

🥤 Race Amenities

Long Sleeve 100% Pre-Shrunk Cotton Race shirts guaranteed to all PRE-Registered participants by 2/10/25...register early! Refreshments, chocolate, and bagels when available from Surf Bagel.

🏆 Awards

• 5k Individual Awards for Overall Male & Female, Master Male & Female, and top 3 finishers in 10 year age groups from 9 & U to 70 & O.

🚗 Race Parking

Parking will be on Rehoboth Avenue for this event and meters are not in effect.

🔄 Refunds/Deferral

The Seashore Striders have a "No Refund" policy, but we offer options such as transfer to a future event or donating your entry fee to the event's charity.
