Join us for the 25th annual This Race is for the Birds!

This year, we are again offering in-person and virtual 5K and 10K events. All events require registration. Register by March 5th to guarantee a t-shirt and lock in lower registration fees.

🏃‍♀️ In-Person Events

• Event Details: In-person events will be held on April 5, 2025 at 9:30am at the Broomgrass Farm Community.
• Course Features: Enjoy the adventure of running or walking on non-technical cross-country trails that wind through fields and woods and along beautiful Back Creek.
• Weather Policy: The events will be held rain or shine.
• 10K Changes: This year, the 10K course will be two loops on the 5K trail. For more information about this change from previous years, check out our website.

🌍 Virtual Participation

• Flexible Options: Virtual participants may choose between running, walking, biking, hiking or another way to complete the distances between now and April 5, 2025.
• Get Creative: Feel free to get creative!
• Result Submission: Participants will then email their results or photos to Race4Birds@PotomacAudubon.org with the subject “My Results.”

📅 Race Day Information

Race packet pick-up is on race day, starting at 8:30 am. Same-day, in-person registration will also begin at 8:30 am on April 5.

💵 Fundraising Information

As this is a fundraiser for PVAS, no refunds will be offered, and the funds will still go to supporting the important work we do preserving, restoring, and enjoying the natural world through education and action.
