Race Origin

• Event History: They organized 'The Final Countdown' in NC for 4 years.
• New Location: This exciting concept has been brought to West Virginia!

Race Experience

• Inclusivity: The race offers a unique experience for everyone from new runners to experienced ultra runners.
• Challenge: The longer you last, the more the Countdown will demand from you.
• Personal Growth: Hold off your own "Final Countdown" as long as possible.

The Course

• Location: The course features a 1.33 mile loop on the property of Amani Brewery.
• Path Condition: Grass path is well maintained and mowed all year long.
• Loop Format: All runners leave together and must complete the loop within the allotted time.
• Break Time: Finish the loop before the Countdown is up, and take a break as you wish.

Countdown Challenge

• Speed Up: Each lap will be slightly faster than the last.
• Starting Pace: First lap starts at 20 minutes (15:02/mile pace).
• Countdown Reduction: Each successive lap is 20 seconds shorter.
• Race End: The adventure ends if you don’t make it back before the Countdown hits "0".

Strategy Tips

• Conservation: Plan to be conservative enough to finish strong.
• Fuel Strategy: Have enough fuel in your tank to accelerate at the end.
