Event: This is our 3rd annual Mardi Gras Mile that will take place on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 11:00am to kickoff the New Bern Mardi Gras Festival in Historic Ghent.
Experience: This will give our racers a one-of-a-kind experience to run through the streets with the crowd lined up to cheer them on.
Attire: Racers are encouraged to wear their best Mardi Gras Attire.
Registration: Race information and runner registration will be through Run the East (runtheeast.com).

Proceeds: Proceeds from this race will benefit the We Can Be Association.
Mission: The We Can Be Association is a local non-profit organization that provides assistance for equipment funding, therapy scholarships, and family/caregiver education to exceptional children in Eastern NC.
Children's Museum: We will be opening a Children’s Museum and Enrichment Center in New Bern, NC to continue our mission of supporting children and families.

Cost: $20 per participant until 2/1/2025.
Increase: Cost increases to $25 per participant until race day on 3/1/2025.

Age Group Awards: 1st in Age Group, Male & Female: Under 10, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-80, 80+.

Included: Race registration includes a customized Mardi Gras bead and a drink ticket.
📅 Event Details
Packet Pick-Up: Packet pick-up will be at the start line the day of the race starting at 10am.
Registration Closure: Same day registration closes at 10:40 am.
Road Closures: There will be road closures due to the festival and parade.
Parking: Parking is available at Temple Church (1500 Kingdom Way, New Bern) that can be best accessed from Rhem St. Please allow yourself enough time to get to the start line.
