CRC Firecracker Fun Run 5k & 1-Mile Sparkler

🏃‍♂️ Event Overview

Come join CRC for a fun run on Saturday, July 5 at 8am at the back parking lot of the Conway Regional Fitness Center on Salem Road. We have a ~5k route (see link below) we will be doing as a group along the trail behind the fitness center. We are also going to do a 1-Mile Sparkler Run this year, so be sure to bring the entire family for a fun morning.

🍉 Event Details

ADDITIONAL INFO:

• Type: This is a “fun run.” It is not a timed event. We will, however, have refreshments and awards for those that register for the event on RunSignUp.
• Participation: All participants will receive a finisher award. (Please note: we will not ship. You will have to pick up at a date/location TBD.)
• Awards: The first male and first female "winners" of the 5k will also earn a free CRC membership.

📝 Registration Information

Registration is FREE to all Conway Running Club members, so be sure to become a member before registering! (See membership cost and perks below.) 12 and under, $10 for 5k & $5 for 1miler. 100% Member discount and age based discounts will be automatically applied at checkout. YOU MUST USE SAME EMAIL TO REGISTER FOR RACE AS USED FOR CLUB MEMBERSHIP.

⏰ Race Start Times

• Wave Start: 5k will start at 8am: 1-mile will start ~5 minutes after.
• Arrive Early: Please arrive early enough to check-in for the event (we will be giving you a wristband to denote which race you are running).

🚦 Course Information

• Course Type: This is an OPEN course. The 1-mile course will be on the trail with a turnaround point halfway.
• Trail Etiquette: Please try to run on the right side of the trail as to not impede those who are returning to the finish.
• Neighborhood Portion: A small portion of the 5k goes into a neighborhood. Obey all traffic laws and be aware of surroundings.
• Course Marking: There will be cones marking the neighborhood portion of the 5k course.

🐾 Pet Policy

• Dogs: While we love our four-legged friends, we ask that you abstain from bringing them to this event.
• Strollers: Allowed, but we ask that you start at the back of the pack!

🚽 Facilities

WARNING: There are no bathrooms readily available at the start/finish line of this event. There are bathrooms at the Fitness Center, which you will need to ask permission to use. Additionally, bathrooms are available across the street at McDonald's and along the 5k route.

🌧️ Inclement Weather Plan

We will have the run as planned if it rains, but we will postpone the race for 30 minutes in case of lightning. If after 30 minutes the lightning has not subsided, we will have to cancel the event (but we will still pass out the medals to everyone who registered).
