For over 200 years, Parkinson Disease has been steadily growing—and recently, at an alarming rate. It is now the fastest-growing neurological condition in the world. In the U.S., Florida has the highest number of cases per capita, with over 79,000 individuals affected, contributing to the 1 million cases nationwide and 10 million globally. That number is projected to rise to 12.9 million by 2040.

🧠 About Parkinson's Disease

Parkinson’s is a chronic, progressive, and complex multi-system disorder with no known cure. While often classified as a movement disorder, it affects much more than just physical movement, impacting mental, emotional, and autonomic functions as well.

👥 Lee Health Parkinson Program

• Community Impact: The Lee Health Parkinson Program has served over 4,500 individuals in our community.
• Current Support: Currently supports nearly 2,000 people.
• Mission: Provide hope and critical resources to navigate the challenges of living with Parkinson’s.
• Free Services: Offering personalized support, education, exercise classes, enrichment groups, and social activities.

• Location: Lee Health Sports Park, Hammond Field
• Event: 1 Mile or 2 Mile walk fundraiser for the Lee Health Parkinson Program
• Celebration: Enjoy popcorn, hot dogs, and cotton candy after crossing the finish line!
