Get the Slack Out 5k & Beer Mile

🍻 Event Overview

Looking for something different to do on a Sunday Morning? How about a 5k and FREE BEER? Come out and join us for the inaugural Get The Slack Out 5k. This race takes place at Dennisville Recreational Park followed by a post race party at Slack Tide Brewing. The race is on paved trails in the park. The brewery is located less than 4 miles from the park.

Overall Awards for top 3 male and female. Age group awards: under 15, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.

🍺 Beer Mile

After the 5k we will be having a Beer Mile at the brewery.

📋 Beer Mile Rules

• Drinking and Running: Each competitor drinks four beers and runs four laps (start with chugging a beer, then run a lap, then beer, then lap, then beer, then lap, then beer, then lap - finish).
• Transition Area: Beer must be consumed before the lap begins within the transition area. The transition area is the 9 meter zone.
• Starting: The race begins with competitors lined up on the mile starting line, drinking the first beer in the transition zone. Competitors can walk/move in the transition area while drinking, but all beer must be consumed in the transition area before setting off to run a lap.
• Penalty for Vomiting: Competitors who vomit before they finish the race must complete one penalty lap at the end of the race. Vomiting more than once during the race still only requires one penalty lap at the end.
