The 27th Annual Long Run 5K starts and finishes at JL Long Middle School, located at 6116 Reiger Ave, Dallas, TX 75214.
🎯 Purpose of the Event
The Long Run is a fundraiser supporting Dallas ISD’s JL Long Middle School. Proceeds are used to bridge critical funding gaps in the JL Long Middle School budget, including:
- Sensory items: Games for the Special Education Department
- Peace Pantry: Funding needed to support food/clothing provided to needy students/families
- Zoo Crew equipment: Gaming equipment for Esports
- Curriculum training: Funding for staff support and educational materials
Other funding initiatives include:
- Science labs: Equipment and materials for the Athletics Department
- Math and Science Team: Entry fees and transportation for competitions
- Field trips: Transportation for trips that promote a college-bound culture
- Campus initiatives: Student gardens and beautification projects
