🏃‍♂️What is a Tunnel To Towers Climb?

The Tunnel to Towers Climb Series was created to honor the heroic life and death of Stephen Siller, a New York City firefighter (FDNY) who lost his life on September 11, 2001 after strapping on his gear and running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the Twin Towers. We honor all of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001 and support our first responders and military who make extraordinary sacrifices in the line of duty! 🏢Event Details

• Location: 150 Fayetteville Street, Raleigh, NC
• Date: 2025-09-13
• Climb: 110 flights of stairs in the old Wells Fargo Tower Bldg
• Participation: Whether you climb 1 flight or 100, every effort counts!

🚨Climb Information

• Bail Out Floors: Yes, there will be a bailout floor on the 10th floor.
• Limit on Participants: We are limiting the event to the first 200 so register early!
• Climb Duration: Depending on your fitness level, elite climbers may finish in less than 30 minutes while others may take about 60-120 minutes.
• Breathe Easy: Climbers can stop on a landing to catch their breath: please be courteous to others.

👨‍🚒First Responders

• Gear: First responders are encouraged to wear their bunker/turnout gear. No scott packs allowed.
• Elite Climbers: These are competitive climbers who can run up the stairs quickly: most participants climb at a moderate pace.
• Cell Phones: Yes, registered climbers may enter the stairs with cell phones.
• Registration Packet: Early registration packet pickup will be in August.

🕗Event Schedule

• 8-8:30 AM: Registration/check in
• 8:30-8:45 AM: Announcements/Event details
• 8:45 AM: National Anthem
• 9:00 AM: Event begins (2 hour time cap)

🚗Parking and T-Shirts

• Parking: Free street parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis and at Alexander Square Parking Deck.
• T-Shirts: All participants who register in advance will receive an event T-shirt and a finisher's medal.
• Fundraising: No minimum fundraising requirement, but contributions help support the event.
• Funds Utilization: Proceeds support first responders and military heroes through various programs.

🔞Age and Refund Policies

• Minimum Age: Participants must be at least 10 years old. Exceptions can be discussed.
• Refunds: Participation is non-transferable, and registration fees are non-refundable.
• Team Registration: You can create or join a team during the registration process.
• Check Payment: Teams can submit a single check for all members’ registration fees.

🎉Post-Event Fundraising

YES! You can continue to fundraise beyond the date of the climb. All donations made or raised above and beyond your entry fee are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
