Looking for an amazing run to experience the “upper elevations” of the Big Island?

📅 Event Details

• Date: August 16th, 2025
• Location: Mauna Loa Access Road, At Bird Park Parking Lot, Volcano, HI
• Start Time: 7:00 am
• Registration: Sign up day of the race between 6:30 to 6:50

🌲 Course Description

• Starting Elevation: Approximately 4000 foot elevation at the Bird Park parking lot.
• Distance: Starting point to top is approximately 10 miles, so 20 miles round trip – if you’re ambitious.
• Route: Participants will run or walk up paved road through beautiful Koa forest to the top….. or not! Go as far as you like – your choice. Just get it done in 4 hours.
• Support: Big Island Road Runners will have a few aid stations set up along the route and snacks at the bottom for when you finish.

💲 Registration Fees

• Members: Free to BIRR members - discount given when you register.
• Non-Members: $10 donation for non-members.
