🌲 In Memory of Friends

This race is also being run in the memory of three great friends: Ran Kiper, Jim Wilhite, & Robin Fell. They all had a passion for the great outdoors, from a Saturday morning jog with “the group” to a competitive half-marathon down on the Riverfront. They were all leaders, giving their time and resources to organizations and individuals in need. They loved their families and friends, and were committed to living life to its fullest. The 1996 Firecracker 5K was Ran Kiper’s last foot race. The following day he was diagnosed with cancer and passed away that September. Men’s mug #101 is in memory of Ran Kiper.

👦 Kids 1/2 Mile Fun Run

• Entry Fee: $15.00 until July 3
• Race Day Fee: $20.00
• Start Time: 7:30am
• Medals: All kids will receive a finishers medal

🏁 Course Description

5K (3.1 miles) will start and finish at Mall St. Vincent Parking Lot (directly behind Sears). Race will proceed through historic South Highland Subdivision, one of Shreveport’s oldest & most beautiful neighborhoods. A scenic and challenging road race for runners, walkers, and sightseers.

📦 Early Packet Pickup

• Dates: June 26th and 27th, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
• Date: June 28th, 9:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
• Date: June 29th, 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
• Date: June 30th to July 3rd, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

🥇 Awards and Prizes

• Overall Male & Female Winners: $500 each
• 2nd Overall Male & Female Winners: $250 each
• First 101 Men & First 100 Female Finishers: will be awarded a 41st Anniversary Commemorative Mug
• First 10 Male and Female finishers over the age of 50: will also receive a commemorative mug

💵 Prize Money

• Total Prize Money: $2500.00
• Overall Winners: Will receive $500.00 each
• Runner-up Winners: Will receive $250.00 each
• Beat the Course Record: Win an additional $500!

• Refunds: 100% refund if canceled more than 30 days prior, 50% refund if canceled between 30 days and two weeks.
• Transfer Policy: Transfers allowed if done at least two weeks prior, charged at $10.00.
