I'm Bound for Boston Marathon & Half Marathon - Atlanta

🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

Have you been dreaming of running Boston? Need to shave a few minutes off your time to qualify? Looking for the perfect course to set a PR? Regardless, if you want to run Boston or not, THIS is the event for you!

We're racing in Johns Creek/Suwanee/Cumming, and the course is a 1-mile super flat & super fast loop! Both the Full Marathon & Half Marathon are USATF certified. The Full Marathon is a Boston Qualifier (FYI a 1:26 in a Half Marathon was the time that qualified a seated position in the 2017 Peachtree Road Race.)

Race Registration is directly across Johns Creek Parkway from this address. Parking is on the same side of the street as the address.

VOLUNTEERS FOR I'M BOUND FOR BOSTON RECEIVE FIVE (5) FREE RACES. (Volunteers must sign up on the volunteer page.)

All participants registered by 08/21 are guaranteed race swag in your size. Afterwards, swag will be while supplies last.

Virtual Race participants can't qualify for Boston but will receive awesome swag! Register by August 21 to guarantee shirt & size.

You'll submit your time by end of day on September 5th, and we'll post your results for the Virtual Race. Shirts and medals are mailed first thing after the weekend.

New to Virtual Running? Here's how it works:

1. Get Excited: Grab some friends to join you!
2. Hydrate: Get ready to move and download your custom bib!
3. Run or Walk: Choose your route and remember to be safe!
4. Have Fun: Share your distance and photos using #BostonBound2024!
5. Submit Results: Results can be submitted on RunSignUp.com until 9/4/2022, 11:59 PM.

⏰ Wave Start Times

To keep the race course thin and provide everyone with plenty of time to finish, we will have three start times available:

The official start time for the event will be 6:30 AM, with additional waves at 6:00 AM & 5:30 AM.

Registration Fees: $5.00 for each additional 30 minutes before the official start at 6:30 AM. Participants in earlier waves must pick up their bib and swag at Early Packet Pickup the day before the race. The earlier waves will be limited to 50 participants each.

All participants will receive a custom Finisher Medal! Awards will be given in various categories including:

• Top 3 Overall M/F
• Top 3 Master M/F
• Overall Grand Master (50+)
• Overall Sr. Grand Master (60+)

And many age group awards.

📋 Boston Qualifying

Both courses are USATF certified, making the Marathon a Boston Qualifier (GA17053WC). Use your times for Peachtree Qualification or almost any other race that requires qualifying time.

📏 Course & Timing Details

Course: 1 mile FLAT & FAST loop. Both Half & Full are USATF certified. Course Map

Timing: Chip timed Start & Finish, Split times every mile displayed on timing clocks.

Entertainment: Music & entertainment along the course to keep you motivated.

Course Cut Off: Closes at 10:30 AM (4 hour race time).

🚰 Aid Stations

Hydration provided on the course includes water, a Gatorade-type drink, and bananas, along with two stations along the course (every 1/2 mile).

• 1 station with cups of water and bananas.
• 1 station for your (Bring Your Own) personal aid (drinks & gel).

🦃 Five Star Turkey Trot

All participants will qualify for 1 FREE entry into one of the 2025 Five Star Turkey Trots. See event website for details.

Top finishers will qualify for entry into the Five Star 5K/10K Half Championships to be held January 2026.

🔄 Refunds, Transfers, & Deferments

All registrations are final. No refunds, deferments, or transfers will be provided.

This event will take place rain or shine. In case of extreme weather, the safety of participants will be prioritized, and refunds will not be given.

No COVID-19 Refunds. In unforeseen circumstances due to COVID-19, the event may go 100% Virtual and shirts will be shipped to participants.
