🏃‍♂️ Who We Are Running For

• Beneficiaries: Blue Star Service Dogs (Website) and Bay Veterans Foundation (Website)

📅 When and Where

• Date: 22 May 2025
• 5k Start Time: 18:30 (6:30 PM)
• Longer-k Start Time: 19:15 (7:15 PM)
• Location: Veterans Memorial Park (John F Kennedy Drive, Bay City, MI)

💻 Virtual Participation

• Options: If you can’t make the event day but still want to be a part, there is a virtual option for you: we’ll find a way to get your items to you.

💰 Cost

• Entry Fee: $10 for the run events (do one or both: we’re casual) without the shirt if you sign up by 20 May.
• Shirt Option: $30 for the run events with the shirt, provided you sign up by 5 May.
• Day-of Registration: $15 total if you sign up on race day.
• Shirt Availability: Leftover shirts on race day will be $20.00 - $24.50, depending on size.

• Personalized Dog Tag: You will receive a dog tag that will be personalized.
• Option for Shirt: Option to add a wicked cool shirt to your registration.
• Support Veterans: Satisfaction of supporting two groups designed to help veterans.
• Remembering Our Heroes: Most importantly, remembering a specific group of DoD personnel who never came home.

🎗️ Additional Donations

• Donation Box: If you would like to make an additional donation to both BVF and BSSD, there is a donation box that shows up after the merchandise section of this sign up.
• Full Contribution: None of that donation goes to overhead: every penny will go straight to the two organizations.
• No Pressure: No passive-aggressive pressuring or judgment on our part if you choose not to add additional funds.
• Honoring Soldiers: We are grateful you decided to do this event to honor the memory of those soldiers and sailors who died while in service.

🏅 Capacity and Start

• Capacity: 200, with a rolling start.
• Flag Passing: It’s cool to see the flag pass hands from person to person.
• Participant Types: Open to runners, walkers, and ruckers.
• Team Spirit: Event focuses on teamwork and honoring the deceased servicepeople.

🏁 Race Details

• 5k Course: A straightforward course with a flag bearer leading.
• Flag Bearer: The leader carries the American flag: it must cross the finish line first.
• Longer-k: Distance will vary but will be between a 5k and 10k with some exercise challenges.
• No One Left Behind: We will remain until the last person crosses the finish.

👕 Virtual Option

• Shirt Purchase: If you are unable to run but would like a shirt, choose the virtual option.
• Mailing: Registration will cover mailing costs: you’ll still receive a personalized dog tag.
• Support Veterans: At least $5 of every purchase goes to BSSD and BVF.
• Encouragement: Buy many of them and be the envy of those who missed out.
