Strasburg Mayfest 5K – Benefiting the Alyssa Bane Owens Memorial Scholarship

The Strasburg Mayfest Committee, in collaboration with the Town of Strasburg, is proud to host this year’s Mayfest 5K in honor of Alyssa Bane Owens, a Strasburg High School graduate and beloved special education teacher at her alma mater.

🎓 Legacy of Alyssa

Alyssa dedicated her career to helping students feel confident, capable, and successful in all they did. To continue her legacy of encouragement and support, proceeds from this year’s 5K will benefit the Alyssa Bane Owens Memorial Scholarship, which provides financial assistance to graduating Strasburg High School seniors with disabilities.

By participating in or contributing to this event, you are helping us celebrate Alyssa’s impact on the Strasburg community and ensuring her passion for education and her students' lives.

📅 Race Details

• When: Saturday, April 19 @ 9:00 AM
• Kids Fun Run: April 19 @ 10:00 AM. Free event for children aged 12 and under. One lap around the Strasburg High School track. No need to register for the Fun Run.
• Where: Strasburg High School, 250 Ram Drive, Strasburg, VA 22657. Parking at the high school.

📝 Registration Information

• Pre-registration: Online until 8:30 AM on race day.
• Shirts: Participants will receive a race shirt (while supplies and sizes last).
• Race Day Registration: Begins at 8 AM on Saturday, April 19, 2025.
• Shirt Guarantee: The registration deadline to guarantee a shirt is April 5, 2025.

💰 Cost

• 5K: Pre-registered - $30.00
• Race Day: $35.00
• Discount: Shenandoah Valley Runners (SVR) Members receive a $1 discount.

🏆 Prizes

• Awards: Age group awards and door prizes from local businesses.
• Ceremony: The awards ceremony will immediately follow the completion of the 5K.
• Parade: Winners are invited to ride in the Mayfest Parade on Saturday, May 10, 2025.
