It's the 12th Anniversary of The Champions Run for Special Children!

👟 Race Details

It’s an awesome superhero-themed, certified 5K run/walk/stroll (that also features a 1 mile fun run) to help some of our littlest heroes. Let's get moving!

Dust off your cape and bring some friends to this 5K run/walk benefiting children living with "different-abilities" and special needs!

Individual and Team awards will be presented.

🏆 Group Prizes

• Family: Award for the largest family participation.
• Sorority/Fraternity: Rewarding the largest group of Greek life participants.
• Business: Recognizing the business with the most participants.
• School: Celebrating the school with the largest turnout.
• Church: Acknowledging the church with the most participants.
• Best Team Costume: Prize for the most creative team costume.
• Most Team Spirited: Rewarding the team that shows the most spirit.

🏅 Individual Awards

• Overall (0 - 49): Top participants in the 0-49 age range.
• Masters (50+): Recognizing participants aged 50 and above.
• Ages 70+: Awards for those aged 70 and older.
• Age 60 - 69: Participants in this age group will be honored.
• Age 50 - 59: Awards for this age range.
• Age 40 - 49: Recognition for this group of runners.
• Age 30 - 39: Honoring participants aged 30 to 39.
• Age 20 - 29: Awards for the younger adult category.
• Age 15 - 19: Acknowledging the teen participants.
• Age 10 - 14: Runners in this category will be honored.
• Age 9 and under: Awards for the youngest runners.

🎭 Costume Awards

• Best Costume - Adult Male: Celebrating the best-dressed adult male participant.
• Best Costume - Adult Female: Recognizing the best-dressed adult female participant.
• Best Costume - Child: Honoring the best costume for a child participant.

🤝 Group Participation

If your group would like to participate, we are utilizing RunSignUp's group option. Please contact Laura Capell through our contact form, or at laura@thechampionscenter.com to set up your group, or you can create your own group through the registration website. Teams of 5 or more will receive a discounted rate of $20 per person.

The Champions Center for special children (formerly known as DCEC) provides daily care, critical educational and therapeutic services to children living with different-abilities and special needs. We serve children with Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, Hydrocephalus, Muscular Dystrophy, Cystic Fibrosis, Genetic Conditions and Developmental Delays.
