🎆 Race Overview
This 5K Run/Walk is in memory of Dwight L. Evans, former mayor of Sherrill and organizer of the first fireworks display at the gazebo. He was an avid reader and lifelong resident of Sherrill who was instrumental in securing funds and plans for the Sherrill Gazebo, a place of community events and concerts since 1989.
👨👧👦 Family Involvement
- Dwight's Legacy: Dwight's grandchildren participate in running events and he was there to cheer them on at many of their races.
💰 Beneficiaries
- Proceeds: All proceeds from the Fireworks Run will benefit the Sherrill Kenwood Library and the greater VVS Community.
