🏃‍♂️ Race Overview

The River Hills/Lake Wylie Lions Club (RHLW Lions Club) is proud to host the annual Diabetes Run for Life on Saturday, April 26th, 2025.

💰 Purpose of the Event

• Support for Diabetes: The net proceeds help support The Lions Club's efforts on behalf of Type I Childhood Diabetes.
• Children’s Camp: Funds raised allow the Lions Club to sponsor children with Type I Diabetes to go to Camp Sweet Escape.
• Educational Initiative: The camp is designed to help the children understand how to live and thrive with this frightening disease.
• Community Impact: River Hills / Lake Wylie Lions Club supports over 30 charities through various events.

🏞️ Event Details

• Location: The event will start and end in beautiful Camp Thunderbird adjacent to the River Hills.
• Race Options: It will include a 5K and 10K Runs and a 1-Mile Family Fun Walk.
• Additional Activities: Eye examination and diabetes screening stations, and the author of the award-winning diabetes book “Sweetie”.
• Course Features: Runners will love the challenging course that offers rolling hills, tree-lined roads, lake, and golf course views.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family Friendly

• Stroller-Friendly: Families will be able to walk a course that offers stroller-friendly sidewalks to make their day enjoyable.
• Community Focus: Our goal is simple, “We Serve”
• Engaged Community: RHLW Lions Club is one of the largest and most active Lions Clubs in the Carolinas.
• Various Events: We support our community through events such as the Run for Life, Golf Tournament, Community Directory, Christmas Tree Sales, and Pancake Breakfast.
