🏃♂️ Event Overview
The River Hills/Lake Wylie Lions Club (RHLW Lions Club) is proud to host the annual Diabetes Run for Life on Saturday, April 26th, 2025.
🎯 Purpose
- Support: One hundred percent of the net proceeds support The Lions Club's efforts on behalf of Type I Childhood Diabetes.
🚶♀️ Event Activities
- Runs: The event will include a 5K and 10K Runs and a 1-Mile Family Fun Walk.
- Screening: Eye examination and diabetes screening stations will be available.
- Author Signing: Meet the author of the award-winning diabetes book “Sweetie”.
- Location: The runs and walk will be held in the lakeside community of River Hills in Lake Wylie, S.C.
🛤️ Course Details
- Challenge: Runners will love the challenging course that offers rolling hills, tree-lined roads, and lake views.
- Accessibility: Families will be able to walk a course that offers stroller-friendly sidewalks to make their day enjoyable.
🌟 Impact of Funds
- Camp Sponsorship: The funds raised by "Run For Life" allow the Lions Club to sponsor children with Type I Diabetes to go to Camp Sweet Escape.
- Purpose of the Camp: The camp is designed to help the children understand how to live and thrive with this frightening disease.
🤝 Community Engagement
- Active Club: River Hills / Lake Wylie Lions Club is one of the largest and most active Lions Clubs in the Carolinas.
- Charity Support: We support over 30 charities through our Run for Life, Golf Tournament, Community Directory, Christmas Tree Sales, Pancake Breakfast, and the generous donations from our membership.
