Remote Area Medical (RAM) at UVA is excited to announce the third annual RAM @ UVA 5K on Sunday, March 30, 2025!

🌍 About RAM

• Mission: RAM is a nonprofit organization that provides free healthcare to those in need through mobile clinics offering medical, dental, and vision services to underserved and uninsured individuals.
• History: Since it was founded in 1985, RAM’s Corps of more than 172,900 volunteers – licensed dental, vision, medical, and veterinary professionals – have treated more than 863,700 individuals delivering more than $174 million worth of free care.

🤝 Our Goal

• Mission Promotion: As a chapter of the organization, our goal is to promote that mission and host a biennial free clinic in Fishersville, VA.
• Past Success: We successfully hosted a clinic in November 2022, the first to be organized entirely by a collegiate chapter, where we provided over 500 patients with $250,000 in medical care.
• Funding Need: The cost of hosting our own clinic is almost $45,000, and we continue to work actively in our community to raise these funds.
• Support: Whether you decide to participate in person or virtually, all proceeds from the race will go towards funding for our next clinic to help bring the mission of RAM closer to the Charlottesville community!

🏅 Race Details

• Results: All in-person participants will have their timing results available online after the race and will receive refreshments and a T-shirt (if registered before 3/1) on race day.
• Prizes: The top three finishers will also receive a prize donated by local Charlottesville businesses.
• Pickup: Bib and T-shirt pickup will begin at 12:30 pm on race day. Participants must start the 5K by 1:15 PM and finish no later than 2:30 PM.

💰 Registration Information

• Pricing: The price to register will increase to $20 for in-person participants and $15 for virtual participants after March 3, 2024.
• Encouragement: Make sure to sign up as soon as you can!
