🌍 Race Overview
Sommer Sports Recycle Run where in celebration of Earth Day, we recycle past medals and shirts from previous Sommer Sports Events into a new event. Athletes will be able to select their shirt and medal from dozens of previous held events. Both the 5 Mile and 2 Mile run/walks are out and back along the lake on the South Lake Trail. Challenge yourself to the Lake Minneola 7 Mile Challenge and run both the 2 mile and 5 mile events, earning yourself two shirts and three medals.
♻️ History and Purpose
- Legacy: After 41 years and hundreds of races, Sommer Sports has accumulated a mountain of leftover medals, shirts, and awards.
- Recycling: In celebration of Earth Day, we decided to recycle some of this swag by transforming our Earth Day Run into Sommer Sports Recycle Run.
- Cost-Effectiveness: To help you recycle some cash, we've also reduced the entry fees for the event!
- Selection: Recycle Run participants will now be able to select their race shirt from more than a dozen different events, and their race medal from dozens more.
