🎯 Race Mission

• Goal: Join us in raising seatbelt safety awareness at our upcoming 2024 “Lace-Up to Buckle-Up” 5K Walk/Run.
• Foundation: This is our annual fundraiser, and 100% of the net proceeds go towards furthering our mission.
• Background: The AWYS mission is to save lives through raising awareness and educating teens to Always Wear Your Seatbelt, if not for yourself, for Laura & Eddie.
• Legacy: Our foundation was founded in memory of Laura Grant and Eddie Culberhouse, who lost their lives in a tragic car accident on February 6, 2011.

💰 Entry Fees

• Adult Entry Fee: In-person or Virtual:
  Thru September 25th - $35.00
  September 26th - October 18th - $40.00
  October 19th - $45.00
• Youth Entry Fee (13-19): In-person or Virtual:
  Thru September 30th - $20.00
  October 1st - October 19th - $30.00
  Race Day $35.00
• FREE Youth Entry Fee (0-10): In-person
  *Does not include shirt
• Inclusions: Virtual & In-Person Entry fees will include a unisex super soft blend race t-shirt, a bib number, and your race packet shipping!

📦 Race Packet Pickup

• Date: October 17, 2024, 4 - 7 pm
• Location: Vanbarry's Public House: 4120 S. Orange Ave., Orlando, FL 32806
• Registration deadline: To guarantee race items by race day, register by October 1, 2024!
• Note: Registrations after October 1 cannot guarantee race packet will be received before race day.

🏆 Race Day Awards

This race will award the top Overall male and female finisher + the top 3 in each group listed below broken out by gender:

• Categories: 13 & UNDER, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 & OLDER

• In-person event: Yes! We will be live and in-person, with a virtual option.
• Parking: Free parking is available at Cornerstone Charter Academy and surrounding businesses, plus street parking.
• Virtual participation: You can select your own starting line, like your neighborhood street or a treadmill.
• Social media: Share your experience! Tag us @alwayswearyourseatbelt and #AWYSbuckleup24 with your video or photo!

🏁 Course and Timing

• Course length: The 5K is 3.1 miles.
• Timing: All registered in-person runners will be timed electronically.
• Results: In-person results will be posted on the race website shortly after crossing the finish line.
• Race packet includes: All registered participants will receive the official 2024 race bib and t-shirt.
