Organization: OBX GO FAR (GO OUT FOR A RUN) is a non-profit organization that offers a training program in the fall and spring to elementary and middle school age students in Dare County (Homeschool, private school children are welcome).
Program Details: This season we will be training for The Miles cupcake 5K and fun run at 8AM.
Duration: Training for both 5K & Fun Runners will be 5 weeks long from March 24-May 2.

๐ฒ Cost
Fee: Cost will be the same for the 5K & Fun Run at $48 to cover gear costs for each student.
Included Items: Every child will receive their GO FAR T-shirt, medal, and swag for participating in GO FAR.
Registration Note: Your child's registration in OBX GO FAR covers the cost for their participation in the Miles Cupcake 5K & Fun Run, please DO NOT complete a registration for the race for your child.
Family Participation: If families/parents or siblings would like to run with a GO FAR runner in our final race you must register for the Miles Cupcake RUN HERE: (TBA)
๐ Scholarships
Availability: SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE! If you are in need of a scholarship for your child to participate in GO FAR this season PLEASE NOTE: WE HAVE A LIMIT OF ONE SCHOLARSHIP PER FAMILY!
Donations: If you are not in need of a scholarship, consider donating to our program to help provide for those families who are in need!
Application Process: YOU MUST REGISTER YOUR CHILD DIRECTLY ON OUR WEBSITE AT WWW.OBXGOFAR.ORG UNDER THE SCHOLARSHIP TAB TO RECEIVE A SCHOLARSHIP FOR YOUR CHILD.
๐ When/Where
Training Schedule: Training will begin March 24th - May 2nd. Both 5K & Fun Run will train for all 5 weeks.
Final Race: Our final race will be held at the Miles Cupcake 5k and Fun Run.
Location to Register: You must register for the Miles Cupcake 5k ON OUR WEBSITE WWW.OBXGOFAR.ORG!
Additional Information: Please make sure your child comes with a water bottle and proper running shoes.

Open Participation: GO FAR IS OPEN TO ALL CHILDREN ELEMENTARY AGES (K-5) AND FOR HOMESCHOOLED, PRIVATE OR PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS!
No Residency Requirement: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO ATTEND DARE COUNTY SCHOOLS TO PARTICIPATE!
๐ Practice Locations
CHES: Meetings on Mondayโs and Wednesdayโs from 2:30pm-3:30pm, meeting location out front of the school.
FFES: Meetings on Monday & Wednesday, following school dismissal until 3:30pm, meeting inside FFES down 2nd grade hall.
KHES: Meetings on Monday & Wednesday, following school dismissal until 3:30pm, meeting location at the gym.
MES: Meetings out front of MES following school dismissal until 3:30pm: parents must pick up by 3:30pm.
NHES: Meetings on Mondays & Wednesdays from 2:30pm-3:30pm at Dowdy Park next to Nags Head Elementary School.
