Who/What: OBX GO FAR (GO OUT FOR A RUN) is a non-profit organization that offers a training program in the fall and spring to elementary and middle school age students in Dare County (Homeschool, private school children are welcome).
Training Information: This season we will be training for The Miles cupcake 5K and fun run at 8AM. Training for both 5K & Fun Runners will be 5 weeks long from March 24-May 2.

💰 Cost of Participation
Registration Fee: Cost will be the same for the 5K & Fun Run at $48 to cover gear costs for each student.
Included Items: Every child will receive their GO FAR T-shirt, medal and swag for participating in GO FAR.
Meaningful Support: These fees will help to cover some of the costs of these items (The average cost per child including all fees is over $110 per child).
Important Note: Your child's registration in OBX GO FAR covers the cost for their participation in the Miles Cupcake 5K & Fun Run, please DO NOT complete a registration for the race for your child.

Eligibility: Scholarships are available! If you are in need of one, please note: WE HAVE A LIMIT OF ONE SCHOLARSHIP PER FAMILY!
Support for Others: If you are not in need of a scholarship, consider donating to our program to help provide for those families who are in need!
Registration Requirement: YOU MUST REGISTER YOUR CHILD DIRECTLY ON OUR WEBSITE AT WWW.OBXGOFAR.ORG UNDER THE SCHOLARSHIP TAB TO RECEIVE A SCHOLARSHIP FOR YOUR CHILD.
📅 Training Schedule & Location
Timing: Training will begin March 24th - May 2nd. Both 5K & Fun Run will train for all 5 weeks.
Final Race: Our final race will be held at the Miles Cupcake 5K and Fun Run.
Practice Duration: Practices will last on average 45 minutes to one hour.
Water Bottles: Please make sure your child comes with a water bottle and proper running shoes.
🏆 Participation Criteria
Inclusivity: GO FAR is open to all children elementary ages (K-5).
Open Enrollment: For homeschooled, private or public school students! You do not have to attend Dare County Schools to participate!
📍 Practice Locations
CHES: Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:30 PM-3:30 PM, meeting out front of the school.
FFES: Mondays & Wednesdays, following school dismissal until 3:30 PM, meeting inside FFES down 2nd-grade hall.
KHES: Mondays & Wednesdays, following school dismissal until 3:30 PM, meeting in the gym.
NHES: Mondays & Wednesdays from 2:30 PM-3:30 PM at Dowdy Park next to Nags Head Elementary School.
