💖 In Memory of Summer Smith
- Background: Summer Smith was a loving mother of three who lost her 12-year battle with addiction on January 9th, 2015.
- Established by: Summer's mom, Kristin, to honor her memory.
- Summer's Wish: She desired to live a life in recovery and fought hard against addiction.
- Open to All: Both runners and walkers are welcome, this is a family and dog-friendly event.
💰 Proceeds and Donations
- Beneficiaries: Proceeds will support the Addiction Care Center of Albany, Schenectady YWCA, and Friends of Recovery Albany.
- Scholarship Fund: A $750 Scholarship in Summer's Memory for a Guilderland High School senior pursuing health services.
- Support for Animals: $1000 donation for the Dawn Viti Memorial Rescue Dog to help a dog with special needs.
- Cause: Promoting education, prevention, and a culture of support for those impacted by addiction.
