The BEST Phoenixville running event (with the BEST medals) during the BEST local holiday in all of America, is BACK and EVEN MORE BLOBTACULAR THAN EVER! On Sunday July 13th, Steve McQueen and YOU star in the horror movie of the century! Uh...last century!

🏃 Description

Every year, Phoenixville, PA celebrates Blobfest in honor of 1958's The BLOB. And every year, we throw a running party to help celebrate and support the historic Colonial Theatre that stars in the film! This year, in addition to our 5K, 10K, and kids' fun-run, we will have a half marathon!

🎨 Course Decoration Contest!

• Participation: Not a runner? Get a group of friends together to participate in our course decoration contest.
• Theme: Your group will be given an area on the 5K course to decorate in some Blob (or other monster/alien) theme.
• Rule: The only rule is that you don’t obstruct or startle our runners.
• Prize: After the race, runners will vote for the best scenes and the winners will receive gift cards!

📍 Location

The starting area is under the Gay Street Bridge in Phoenixville, PA (the same location as the Phoenixville Farmer's Market). The closest address is 200 Mill Street.

🅿️ Parking

• Free off-site parking: Available at Phoenixville High School (1000 Purple Pride Parkway).
• Shuttle: A free shuttle bus will run from 6:30 am to 11:30 am.
• Half Marathon parking: Should park at the high school only if they have picked up their bibs the day before (since the half marathon starts at 7 am).
• Carpooling: We STRONGLY ENCOURAGE CARPOOLING or walking to the start if you live close by.

⏰ Starting Times

Half marathon: 7 am / 10K: 8 am / 5K: 8:05 am / Kids' Run 8:10 am

📦 Bib Pickup

• Option 1: SATURDAY 7/12 11am to 5 pm at the RUNegades table at the Blobfest Street Fair on Bridge Street in Phoenixville.
• Option 2: RACE DAY 7/13 starting at 6 am.

💧 Water Stops

• Half Marathon: miles 1.3, 3, 4.3, 6.8, 7.6, 9.3, and 11.7
• 5K: at the top of Cromby Hill (Mile 1.4).
• 10K: miles 1.4, 2, 4, and 5 (These stops will be roughly miles 4 and 5 on the way back of the 10K).

🏆 Awards

5K, 10K, and 1/2 marathon awards: The top 3 M/F overall and the top 3 M/F in each of the following age groups will be recognized: 14 & Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+

We’ll have special rewards for best dressed, best course decorations, and most Blobbiest team!

💖 Charity

A portion of your registration fees and 100% of all donations will go to The Historic Colonial Theatre, the site of The Blob's most famous scene!
