🏁 The Vision 5k and Kids Fun Run

The Vision 5k and Kids Fun Run will take place at Peaks View Park in Lynchburg, Virginia on Saturday 12/28/24. A portion of the proceeds will help support programs at Onward Christian Academy. Onward, a K-12 homeschool hybrid model in Lynchburg, VA, is an independent Christian non-profit. We empower families and equip students, supporting parents in training their children while fostering a love for learning and academic success. Through traditional learning and hands-on experiences, students thrive, discover their gifts, and grow as well-rounded individuals ready to serve others and embrace education as a God-given gift.

• Date: December 28, 2024
• 8:45am: Kids 400m Fun Run
• 9:00am: 5k

📍 Event Details & Locations

• Parking: Use the Ivy Creek Entrance for the closest parking options.
• Packet Pick-up: Located in the small picnic shelter near the tennis courts. To expedite check-in please have your registration code pulled up on your smartphone.
• Start/Finish: Located on the pathway near softball field #5.
• Park Map: See the below park map for additional information regarding locations.

📝 Registration

• $25: Through 12/21
• $30: 12/22 & 12/28
• $35: Race Day
• Kids Fun Run: Free, but kids must register.

🎁 Race Amenities

• Goodie for First 50: The first 50 participants will receive an embroidered winter hat!
• Timing: Chip timed with finisher text/email notifications.
• Refreshments: Post race refreshments will also be available for all participants.
• Door Prizes: Each participant is eligible to win one of many door prizes (must be present to claim your prize).

🏆 5k Awards

In the form of gift cards and other offerings from local merchants.

• Overall Male & Female: Awards for overall winners.
• Age Grade Performance: Highest ranking Male & Female according to age grade performance.
• Age Group Awards: Top male and female in each age group which are broken down based off of entry information.

🌧️ Rain/Snow Date

Every effort will be made to conduct the event on the scheduled date, however the rain/snow date is set for Sunday, December 29, 2024. In the event of a major storm threat, race management will notify all participants 24 hours prior to the event, specifically Dec. 27, by 9am. While we will honor refunds until 12/20, we will only honor race fee transfers to another participant after 12/20.
