Join us in our mission to restore our clinic and continue serving those in need. Together, we can make a difference! We are excited to announce our third annual 5K for the Free Clinic! In previous years, this event has successfully raised funds for colon cancer awareness, education, and screenings. Unfortunately, this past Christmas, our clinic building suffered extensive smoke damage due to a nearby fire.

As we work to RISE and REBUILD, we are pivoting our efforts to ensure our patients continue to receive care at alternative locations. This year, our 5K will focus on raising funds to rebuild our Main Street location, so we can resume providing essential medical and dental services to our underinsured community.

🏥 The Free Clinic of Central Virginia

The mission of the Free Clinic of Central Virginia is to ensure high-quality, compassionate, and comprehensive healthcare for every member of our community. We fulfill this mission by providing high-quality medical, dental, pharmacy, behavioral health, and health education services to those in Central Virginia who do not have the resources to obtain these essential healthcare services.

• Funding: Not funded by the government but instead by our community.
• Volunteers: Largely run by volunteers that are passionate about serving others.
• Community Focus: Here for you to provide essential services.

📝 5K Registration

• Standard Pricing: $30 (November 1 - February 28th)
• Increased Pricing: $35 (March 1st - March 27th)
• Race Day Price: $40 (Packet Pickup on Mar. 28th & Race Day on Mar. 29th)
• 12 & Under: $15 (No shirt included: shirt available for $15 additional)

📅 Race Day Registration

This race has an entry cap of 375 participants. If entries remain available, race day registration is available for $40. Participants are encouraged to register prior to arriving at our starting line at Linkhorne Middle School track, 2525 Linkhorne Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24503. Please note that there is no paper registration for this event.

🏆 Lynchburg Road Runners Club Member Discount

The Free Clinic is happy to offer a $5.00 discount to current Lynchburg Road Runners Club members. The discount period is Nov. 1st – Mar. 15th and applies to participants 13 & older. Discounts will not be given after Friday March 15th.

♿ Assisted Participant Information

Assisted participants with disabilities are welcome. Both the assisted athlete and the pusher must register and sign the waiver and will each only pay half price for registration. Please contact the race for more information on receiving this discount. Assisted participants will have a 3-5-minute advance start for course safety purposes.

📍 New Course and Location for 2025

Our new race location is Linkhorne Middle School, 2525 Linkhorne Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24503. The course will start and finish on the Linkhorne Middle School track and use the Langhorne Road Bridge Trail Extension of the Blackwater Creek Bikeway. The course is out and back.

🌸 2025 Race Series

This year’s event is race #3 of the 2025 Lynchburg Road Runners Spring Race Series. There is no additional fee to participate in the Race Series. Participants do not need to be a Lynchburg Road Runners Club member to place in the Race Series.

📦 Packet Pickup

• Friday, March 28th: 12 – 6pm, Riverside Runners
• Saturday, March 29th: 8 – 8:30am, Linkhorne Middle School Track

👕 T-shirts

Participants who register by the Wednesday, March 9, 2025, 11:59pm deadline will receive a 5K t-shirt. Extras are available on a first-come basis at packet pickup.

🏅 Awards/Results/Timing

Top three overall male and female finishers, top Masters (40+ yrs of age) male & female, plus the top 3 male & female finishers in various categories will receive recognition. Timing will be provided by Riverside Runners.

🐾 Pets & Strollers

Due to the width of the bikeway, strollers are prohibited from being part of the event. Please do not bring your pet to this event.

📅 Race Cancellation

If the event is canceled due to weather, the race will be rescheduled for Sunday March 30th at 2pm. Those not able to attend this alternative date will be transferred to a virtual 5K.

💰 Refund / Transfer / Deferral Policy

Entries are non-refundable or transferable to another person or event. Entries cannot be deferred to another year.
