Event Type: This run and walk is for anyone who has been impacted by colon cancer because NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE.
Participants: Survivors, current battlers, caregivers, family members, friends, coworkers, sisters, husbands, mothers, or anyone who wants to increase access to healthcare and screening sign up to help change the statistics.
📊 Colon Cancer Awareness
Screening Importance: Colon Cancer screening is one of the most underused ways to save someone's life from cancer that exists.
Survival Rate: Stage one colon cancer has over a 90% survival rate but colon cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the US.
Preventative Measures: Lack of access to healthcare and early screening measures leads to avoidable deaths: 60% of these deaths can be avoided with screening.
Uninsured Rates: 76% of uninsured have not had a colon cancer screening and lack access to proper medical care.

Mission: The mission of the Free Clinic of Central Virginia is to ensure high-quality, compassionate, and comprehensive healthcare for every member of our community.
Services Offered: We provide high-quality medical, dental, pharmacy, behavioral health, and health education services.
Funding: We are not funded by the government but instead we are funded by our community and largely run by volunteers.
Community Support: We are here for you.
📝 Registration Information
5K Registration Fees: $30 (November 1 - February 28th), $35 (March 1st - March 27th), $40 (Packet Pickup and Race Day).
12 & Under Special Pricing: $15 (Does not include shirt. A shirt can be purchased for an additional $15 during registration).
Race Day Registration: Available if entries remain, $40 fee: encourages early registration.
Note: There is no paper registration for this event.

Lynchburg Road Runners Club Member Discount: A $5.00 discount for current members, applicable Nov. 1st – Mar. 15th.
Assisted Participant Information: Assisted participants with disabilities are welcome, both must register and will each pay half price.
Advance Start: Assisted participants will have a 3-5-minute advance start for course safety.
Parking: Reserved spaces for assisted athlete teams available at the event.
📍 Race Location
New Course Location: Linkhorne Middle School, 2525 Linkhorne Drive, Lynchburg, VA 24503.
Course Description: The course will start and finish on the Linkhorne Middle School track and use the Langhorne Road Bridge Trail Extension of the Blackwater Creek Bikeway.
Race Series: This is race #3 of the 2025 Lynchburg Road Runners Spring Race Series.
Entry Fee: No additional fee to participate in the Race Series.
🎽 Packet Pickup Information
Date: Friday, March 28th from 12 – 6pm at Riverside Runners, 2480 Rivermont Avenue, Lynchburg, VA 24503.
Race Day: Saturday, March 28th from 8 – 8:30am at Linkhorne Middle School Track, 2525 Linkhorne Dr., Lynchburg, VA 24503.
T-shirts: Participants who register by March 9, 2025, will receive a 5K t-shirt: extras available on a first-come basis.
Awards: Timing will be provided by Riverside Runners.
🏅 Awards and Results
Awards: Top three overall male and female finishers, top Masters (40+ yrs), and top 3 finishers by age category.
Timing: Provided by Riverside Runners.
📋 Event Policies
Pets & Strollers: Strollers are prohibited. Please do not bring pets.
Race Cancellation: If the event is canceled due to weather, it will be rescheduled for the next day at 2pm.
Refund Policy: Entries are non-refundable or transferable to another person or event and cannot be deferred to another year.
