The Fireball Moonlight Classic 5K is a summer tradition that continues in 2024 for the 40th year!
Date, Time & Place: Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024, Little Firecracker Mile-8:00pm, 5K-9:00pm, Neyland Dr
Kickoff your 4th of July festivities with a fast 5k on Neyland Drive - it's the Pilot Travel Centers Fireball Moonlight Classic 5k and Little Firecracker Mile!
🏃♂️ Course Description
- Start Line: Runners will start in the east bound lane of Neyland Dr, just west of Joe Johnson Dr.
- Route: Run out before returning in the east bound lane, finishing just before Joe Johnson Dr.
- Kids Mile: Little Firecracker Mile will be an out and back on Neyland Drive.
- Certification: Course certification number is TN10099MS.
💵 Registration and Entry Fee
- Early Bird Pricing: Through 4/9 - $25, 4/10-6/18 - $30
- Late Registration: 6/19-7/3 - $35
- Age Discounts: Cost for 17 and under is $25 until 6/18, then $35 late and day-of registration.
- Little Firecracker Fee: $10 through 6/18, $15 6/19-7/3.
🎽 Packet Pickup
- Early Pickup: On Monday, July 1 at Runner's Market/Hard Knox Pizza Bearden from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m.
- Race Day Pickup: In front of Brehm Animal Science Building off of Joe Johnson Drive from 7pm-8:45pm.
👕 Shirts
- Adult Shirts: Will be unisex in size.
- Kids Shirts: Kids will receive a shirt and finisher's medal.
- Order Deadline: Shirt order will be placed on June 24: register by June 23 for correct size.
- Exchanges: Sizes can be exchanged after the race if supplies are available.
🏆 Awards
- Overall Awards: Top 3 Overall male and female.
- Age Categories: Awards to the top 3 in each age group.
- Special Awards: Overall Clydesdale (men over 200 lbs.) and Overall Athena (women over 150 lbs.).
- Finisher's Medal: All kids finishing the Little Firecracker Mile will receive a medal.
🏁 Post Race Refreshments
Assorted refreshments will be provided post race in the event tent.
🚫 Race Etiquette
- Prohibited Items: Roller blades, strollers, bicycles, and dogs are not allowed on the course.
- Course Closure: The 5K course closes in 1 hour and 15 minutes.
- Headphones: KTC discourages the use of headphones at events.
