Fireball Moonlight Classic 5K and Firecracker Kids Mile

🎉 Welcome to the Fireball Moonlight Classic 5K

The Fireball Moonlight Classic 5K is a summer tradition that continues in 2025 for the 41st year!

📅 Date, Time & Place

• Date: Wednesday, July 3rd, 2025
• Little Firecracker Mile: 8:00 PM
• 5K: 9:00 PM
• Location: Neyland Dr at UT Vet School, Knoxville, TN

🏃‍♂️ Course Description

Runners will start in the east bound lane of Neyland Dr, just west of Joe Johnson Dr, and run out before returning in the east bound lane, finishing just before Joe Johnson Dr. Little Firecracker Mile will be an out and back on Neyland Drive. Course certification number is TN10099MS.

💵 Registration and Entry Fee

• Early Bird Pricing: Through 4/9 - $25
• Standard Fee: 4/10-6/18 - $30
• Late Registration: 6/19-7/3 - $35
• Little Firecracker Fee: $10 through 6/18, then $15

📦 Packet Pickup

Early pickup on Monday, July 1 at Runner's Market/Hard Knox Pizza Bearden from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m. Race-day packet pickup will be in front of Brehm Animal Science Building off of Joe Johnson Drive on UT Ag campus from 7 PM - 8:45 PM.

👕 Shirts

Adults shirts will be unisex in size: Kids will receive a shirt and finisher's medal. Shirt order will be placed on June 24. To ensure your correct shirt size, please register by June 23. Sizes can be exchanged after the race if supplies are available.

📝 Results

Results will be posted on RunSignup after the race.

🏆 Awards

Awards to the top 3 Overall, top Masters (age 40 and above), Grandmasters (age 50 and above), Senior Grandmasters (age 60 and above), top 3 in each age group, Overall Clydesdale (men over 200 lbs.) and Overall Athena (Women over 150 lbs.). Awards ceremony following race. All kids finishing the Little Firecracker Mile will receive a finisher's medal.

🏅 Grand Prix Points and Team Competition

The Pilot Fireball 5k is on the 2024 Team Competition schedule. Points accumulate throughout the year. KTC recognizes the top 10 men and women in the Grand Prix series at the New Year’s Day 5K on January 1, 2025.

🍴 Post Race Refreshments

Assorted refreshments will be provided post race in the event tent.

🚫 Race Etiquette

Due to insurance regulations, roller blades, strollers, bicycles, and dogs are not allowed on the course. The 5K course closes in 1 hour and 15 minutes. KTC discourages the use of headphones at events.
