Fireball Moonlight Classic 5K and Firecracker Kids Mile

🏃‍♂️ Overview

The Fireball Moonlight Classic 5K is a summer tradition that continues in 2025 for the 41st year!

📅 Date, Time & Place

• Date: Wednesday, July 3rd, 2025
• Little Firecracker Mile Time: 8:00pm
• 5K Time: 9:00pm
• Location: Neyland Dr, UT Vet School, Knoxville, TN

🏞️ Course Description

Runners will start in the east bound lane of Neyland Dr, just west of Joe Johnson Dr, and run out before returning in the east bound lane, finishing just before Joe Johnson Dr. Little Firecracker Mile will be an out and back on Neyland Drive. Course certification number is TN10099MS.

📝 Registration and Entry Fee

• Pricing: Early Bird Pricing through 4/9 - $25, 4/10 - 6/18 - $30, late registration 6/19 - 7/3 - $35.
• 17 and Under Cost: $25 until 6/18, then $35 for late and day-of registration.
• Little Firecracker Fee: $10 through 6/18, then $15 6/19 - 7/3.
• Restrictions: No refunds or bib transfers. Only one coupon may be used at a time, and no discounts on day-of registration.

📦 Packet Pickup

• Early Pickup: Monday, July 1 at Runner's Market/Hard Knox Pizza Bearden from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m.
• Race-Day Pickup: In front of Brehm Animal Science Building off of Joe Johnson Drive on UT Ag campus from 7pm-8:45pm.

👕 Shirts

• Adult Shirts: Unisex sizes: Kids will receive a shirt and finisher's medal.
• Order Deadline: Shirt order will be placed on June 24: register by June 23 for size accuracy.
• Exchanges: Sizes can be exchanged after the race if supplies are available.
• Inventory Note: When the inventory runs out in the RunSignUp system, there will be no more shirts.

🏆 Results and Awards

• Results: Will be posted on RunSignup after the race.
• Awards: Top 3 Overall, top Masters, Grandmasters, Senior Grandmasters, and top 3 in each age group.
• Clydesdale and Athena Awards: Overall awards for men over 200 lbs. and women over 150 lbs.
• Kids Participation: All kids finishing the Little Firecracker Mile will receive a finisher's medal.

🌟 Grand Prix Points and Team Competition

The Pilot Fireball 5k is on the 2024 Team Competition schedule. 2024 Grand Prix Points are awarded to winners in various categories and age groups. Points accumulate throughout the year. KTC recognizes the top 10 men and women in the Grand Prix series at the New Year’s Day 5K on January 1, 2025. Remember, to be eligible for Grand Prix Points, participants must be a member of KTC and must volunteer for at least 3 KTC races throughout the year.

🍽️ Post Race Refreshments

• Refreshments: Assorted refreshments will be provided post-race in the event tent.

👮 Race Etiquette

Due to insurance regulations, roller blades, strollers, bicycles, and dogs are not allowed on the course. The 5K course closes in 1 hour and 15 minutes. KTC discourages the use of headphones at events.
