Event Details:

• 5K Run: timed
• 1 Mile Dog Walk: not timed
• Dog Availability: Shelter dogs will be available to "rent" for the 1 mile walk. First come, first served!

Event Times:

• Registration & Packet Pick-Up: 7:30 a.m.
• 1 Mile Start: 8:30 a.m.
• 5K Start: 9:00 a.m.
• Winner Announcements: 9:45 a.m.

Race Registration:

• Registration Notice: This event is likely to sell out, so secure your spot by registering early! Carpooling is encouraged!
• 5K Price: $35 thru April 12, then $40
• 1 Mile Price: $25 thru April 12, then $30

5K Awards:

• Overall Winners: Top 3 Male and Female Overall
• Age Categories: Top 3 in age category: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 & over

What You Get:

• Race Shirt: Guaranteed through Thursday, May 1
• Post-Race Refreshments: Available for all participants

About Friendship APL:

• Organization: Friendship APL is a private, independent, 501(c)(3) non-profit humane society founded in Elyria, Ohio in 1957.
• Shelter Size: We operate the largest animal shelter in Lorain County.
• Mission: Dedicated to ensuring that no animal suffers without basic necessities and to promoting the human/animal bond.
• Funding: Friendship APL receives no government funding: we depend on generosity, financial support, and fundraisers.

Race Guidelines:

• Dog Handling: We ask that those running with dogs start towards the back and keep dogs on a short leash.
• Route Information: The race route is out and back: be aware of runners coming back on the other side of the trail.
• Dog Rental: The number of "rentable" shelter dogs will vary based on available dogs for adoption on the day of the event and weather conditions.
• Donation for Rental: Available dogs can be "rented" for a discretionary donation to the shelter, with a suggested donation of $15-20.
