Race Qualification

• Qualifier: Western States 100 Lottery Qualifier (sub 32-hour 100-mile)
• Past Qualifiers: 119 qualifiers in 2024 and 133 qualifiers in 2025

Race Description

• Popular Event: This is the December edition of our popular Brazos Bend races, featuring the 100-mile marquee event.
• Largest Race: The Brazos Bend 100 is the largest trail race in Texas and one of the fastest trail races in the world on flat and smooth trails.
• Aid Stations: Incredible support from aid stations on a multi-loop course.
• Course Details: 99.9% flat course: 10-foot rise over 0.1 mile, featuring hard crushed rock, soft hiking trails, and smooth horse trails.

Race Conditions

• Shoe Recommendations: Most runners will use a road shoe like the Altra Vanish Carbon 2, Torin 8, or Flow 2: trail shoes may be better for wetter conditions.
• Weather: Conditions in December typically range from 40-70 degrees, suitable for running.
• Wildlife: Brazos Bend State Park is known for its birds and American Alligators: enjoy them safely during your run.
• Unique Photos: You may get some unique race photos featuring the local wildlife.

Brazos Bend Challenge Coin

Complete the 50K or 50M in April, AND the 100K or 100M in December of the same calendar year to earn the Brazos Bend Challenge Coin.

Cutoff Times

• Finish Line: All races finish at 2 PM on Sunday.
• 100M: 32-hour limit
• 100K: 31-hour limit
• Marathon: 31.5-hour limit: Half Marathon: 31-hour limit
