The 1911 Initiative 5K Scholarship Run/Walk, happening on Saturday, June 21, 2025, in partnership with the Village of Matteson, is more than just a race—it’s a collective effort to uplift education by providing scholarships, mentorship, and real hands on internships to college-bound students. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or someone who enjoys a leisurely stroll, this event is open to everyone!

- Entertainment: Enjoy live music, a concert stage, and a beer tent along with delicious food vendors.

- Wellness Support: Stretch Lab will be on-site offering free stretch demos and consultations.

- Race Date: Saturday June 21, 2025
- Location: Matteson Community Center: 20642 Matteson Ave, Matteson, IL 60443
- Pricing: Early Bird price $35 then $40 and race day $55
- Course: Official certified 5K street course as designed by the Village of Matteson.
📦 Packet Pick-Up
Packet pick-up will take place at the Village of Matteson Community Center on Thursday June 19th thru Friday June 20th from 10:00 am-7:00 pm. Packet Pick-up and late registration will also be available on race day starting at 6:30 am.
🕗 Event Schedule
- 6:30 am: Packet Pickup & Registration Opens
- 8:00 am: Race Starts
🏆 Awards
Top 3 overall male and female and top 3 male and female age groups will receive awards. Age groups include 7 & Under, 8-10, 11-14, 15-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85-89, 90+.
👕 Shirts
Participants who register before June 1, 2025 are guaranteed a shirt. Free or discounted entries do not guarantee a shirt unless payment is made.
🚗 Parking
Official parking is available around the Village Community Center.
💰 Proceeds
A portion of proceeds supports the 1911 Initiative and Dollars for Scholars.
