Save the date for our 18th annual event on Saturday, March 1, 2025.

🏃‍♂️ What is the Heat the Streets Run & Walk for Warmth?

• Opportunity: Participants can register for a timed 5K run, timed 10K run or untimed two-mile walk.
• Virtual Option: A virtual option is available for those unable to join us in person.

💖 Why Do We Do It?

• Collaboration: Since 2007, Metropolitan Utilities District and Omaha Public Power District have teamed up to host this annual event.
• Community Focus: Proceeds benefit local utility assistance programs helping communities pay their utility bills.
• Year-Round Need: Utility assistance is a year-round need, though this event takes place in winter months.
• Fund Administration: Funds are administered by Dollar Energy Fund, Inc.

📋 What Are the Details?

• Date & Time: Participants will gather Saturday, March 1 in Aksarben Village. Timed events start at 9 a.m. and the untimed walk at 9:15 a.m.
• Incentives: Awards will be given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place male and female runners in various age divisions.
• Virtual Completion: Virtual participants are encouraged to complete their distance on March 1 in their chosen locations.
• Strollers & Pets: Strollers are welcome, and pets and service dogs must adhere to city leash ordinances.

💰 How Much Does It Cost?

Timed 10K

• Pricing: $35 (Black Friday through January 31), $45 (February 1 through February 26), $55 (Day-of registration)

Timed 5K

• Pricing: $30 (Black Friday through January 31), $40 (February 1 through February 26), $50 (Day-of registration)

Untimed 2-mile walk (Children 12 and under may register for free with a registered adult.)

• Pricing: $25 (Black Friday through January 31), $30 (February 1 through February 26), $40 (Day-of registration)

Virtual run/walk (No swag/giveaways will be given to virtual registrants.)

• Price: $30 (Black Friday through March 1)
