Micanopy Pavilion
- What: A 5K run/walk celebrating the Gopher Tortoise, Florida's official state tortoise.
- Where: Okeeheelee Park, starting and finishing at Micanopy Pavilion.
- Why: To raise awareness of the Gopher Tortoise and its role as a keystone species in the ecosystem.
- Who: Hosted by the Friends of Okeeheelee Nature Center, open to all participants.
🏃♂️ Race Details
The 5K will run/walk through beautiful Okeeheelee Park. This event is chip-timed, and awards will be given to the top 3 overall (male and female) and top 3 in each age group. Each participant will receive:
- Personalized bib: With an RFID timing chip.
- Event shirt: Stylish and comfortable.
- Finisher medal: A beautiful keepsake for your accomplishment.
- Family friendly: Bring your family and friends to join the fun.

- August 1, 2024 - January 31, 2025: $35.00
- February 1, 2025 - February 28, 2025: $37.50
- March 1, 2025 - March 21, 2025: $39.50
- March 22, 2025: $45.00 (Race day signup may not guarantee an event shirt.)

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
- Friday March 21, 2025: Packet Pickup at Buffalo Wild Wings, 4:00pm - 6:30pm.
- Saturday March 22, 2025: Okeeheelee Park, Micanopy Pavilion, 7715 Forest Hill Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33413.
- 6:15am: Park gates open & Registration and Packet Pickup Open.
- 7:30am: Start of the Gopher Tortoise Gallop 5K.
🎉 Post-Race Activities
- 8:00am: Healthy snacks after completing your 5K.
- 8:25am: Party with DJ Petey.
- 8:45am: Awards Ceremony.
- 9:00am: Shell-A-Bration at the Nature Center.
