🏃♂️ The Nations Firefly 5K
Join us for the inaugural Nations Firefly 5K, a great way to kick-off Light the Nations weekend! This is a timed event with awards for the top 3 overall for each gender and age group category winners. In addition, we will have overall team awards and encourage any themed attire.
🕗 Race Details
- Start Time: 8 am CT
- Time Limit: 1 hour (course open until 9 am CT)
- Participation: Walkers and strollers are welcome: bikes and scooters are not allowed.
- Pricing: Children ages 6-12 are $10: kids 5 & under are free. No need to register children in strollers.
📍 Location
The race will start and end near the pavilion in West Park (6105 Morrow Ave) and run through part of the Nations neighborhood, including England Park. View route map here and below.
📅 Race Day Itinerary
- 6:30 am - 7:45 am: Packet pickup, runner check-in, and (limited) on-site registration
- 7:57 am: National Anthem
- 8 am: Race start (runners first, strollers/walkers follow)
- 9:15 am - 9:30 am: Awards (Overall, Age Group, and Team)
- 10 am: Event concludes
📦 Packet Pickup and Registration
Packet pick-up and in-person registration will be available on Friday, October 18th at Fat Bottom Brewery from 11:30 am - 7:30 pm. Race day packet pick-up will be available from 6:30 am - 7:45 am in West Park. In-person, same-day registration is TBD based on sign-ups. Race course map.
🚗 Starting Line & Parking
Parking is available in West Park parking lots as well as along Morrow between 60th and 61st. There's also limited street parking within the neighborhood. If you're nearby, we encourage you to walk, jog, or bike to the start! See diagram below.
The start/finish line is located in West Park (6105 Morrow Road) at the start of the greenway, adjacent to the West Park water tower (fun fact: the Southeast's largest outdoor mural!). Restrooms are available near the start at the West Park pavilion as well as within West Park Community Center. See diagram below.
🤝 Event Organizers
This is an event organized by the Nations Neighborhood Association and Jogalope Run Club. Race supporters include the Nations Run Club, New Balance, Nashville Running Company, Fat Bottom Brewery, and Brotherly Love Cheesesteaks.
