🏃‍♂️ Ashmun Street Mile Overview

Yooper Running Company presents the 2nd Annual Ashmun Street Mile on July 4th, 2025! The mile begins on Ashmun Street and 14th Ave near the Krist Gas Station at 7:00pm. The runners and walkers will kick off the start of the Sault Sainte Marie Independence Day Parade. The experience of racing in front of your friends and family along the parade route will surely push you to a great finishing time. Not to mention the large downhill as you approach the back half of your mile. The race will finish near Deep Root Salon. A finishing mat will be in the first parking spot on the west side or left side of the road in the direction you are racing.

• September 10 - December 31: $20.00
• January 1 - June 30: $25.00
• July 1 - July 4: $30.00 ONLINE UNTIL 5:30PM JULY 4 OR $30.00 CASH ONLY EXACT CHANGE, ONLY AVAILABLE NEAR FINISH LINE, CLOSES 6:00PM *NO EXCEPTIONS. PLAN ACCORDINGLY TO GIVE YOURSELF TIME TO MAKE IT 1 MILE TO THE START LINE.

🏆 Awards

All finishers will receive a unique medal and a $1 off coupon for Motown Nates!

There will also be cash prizes as follows:

• 1st place male and female: $50.00 + 1 Free Dominoes Pizza
• 2nd place male and female: $30.00
• 3rd place male and female: $20.00
• 1st place master’s (40+) male and female: $50.00 + 1 Free Fry from Motown Nates

There will be no age group prizes. Water, bananas, and granola bars will be provided at the finish line.

⚠️ Notes

Please be aware that the parade will begin shortly after the start of the 1 mile race. You will be required to move off of the road and onto the sidewalk if the parade catches up to you. We recommend that you are able to walk or run a mile in 25 minutes or less.

📋 Bib Pick-Up

There will be a bib pick-up race day near the finish area from 4:30pm-6:00pm. Please show up early as there may be a line to pick up bibs. No portable rest rooms will be available. No shuttles will be available. Plan accordingly.

📝 Results

Yooper Running Company will provide gun timing using bib transponders. Live results will be provided. A live results link will be posted here. Results will be in chronological order by place/time and separated by genders. In addition to the bib chip timing, there will be a finishing clock displayed.
