Friends of CAC is hosting a 5K Charity run on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at Leroy Oaks Forest Preserve!

💖 About the Friends of CAC

The Friends of Child Advocacy Center is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that provides essential services, such as counseling and other support to the hundreds of child abuse victims that pass through the doors of the Kane County Child Advocacy Center (CAC).

• Vital Work: Assists child abuse victims and their families.
• Public Awareness: Increases awareness on the prevention of child abuse.
• Direct Support: All proceeds go directly to helping child victims in Kane County.
• Last Year: Investigated 424 reports of abuse and served approximately 1,000 children.

🏃‍♀️ Event Participation

The Stride for Change 5K is a family event and welcomes participants including runners, walkers, wheelchair users, individuals with baby strollers - All are invited to attend and participate! To ensure the safety of all participants, underage children must have an adult available with them at all times.

• Individual or Team: Join as an individual or create a team with colleagues, friends, or family.
• Team-Building: A fantastic opportunity for camaraderie and healthy competition.
• Bring Hope: Together, we can bring hope and healing to the children of Kane County!

EVENT SCHEDULE

• Check In: 8:00 AM - Packet Pick Up and Race Day Registrations Open
• Opening Remarks: 8:45 AM
• 5K Run/Walk Starts: 9:00 AM
• Awards: 10:30 AM - Closing Remarks at 10:45 AM

Race Event T-Shirt: Secure your size guaranteed by registering by September 30. For those registering after the deadline, please note that t-shirts in your size may be subject to availability. Limited quantities on a first-come, first-served basis on Race Day.
