Run for Freedom 5K & Fun Run

🏃‍♀️ Event Overview

The Bridge 2 Home is a non-profit in Aiken, SC that supports girls who have been victims of sex trafficking. Take a healthy step for you and these young girls by giving them a safe place to live and heal. Find out more about this important cause at www.thebridge2home.com.

🚨 Important Note

• Proceeds: A portion of the proceeds raised will immediately go toward assisting victims of Hurricane Helene.
• Community Support: Aiken and the CSRA have come together in amazing ways since Hurricane Helene.
• New Date: The 5K & Fun Run have been rescheduled for October 26th.
• Dual Cause: The event will help children who are victims of human trafficking as well as storm victims.

🏅 Race Details

• Event Types: Run, walk, or roll in our 3rd annual 5K race: a 1-mile fun run is also offered for the kids.
• Accessibility: Strollers, wheelchairs, and friendly pets are welcome.
• Restrictions: No bicycles or skates are permitted.

🏆 Prizes

• Age Categories: Men and women each have the following age categories with prizes for 1st place and ribbons for 2nd and 3rd: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 and up.
• Overall Winners: 1st through 3rd overall winners for men and for women will receive surprise prizes donated by generous donors.
• Team Prize: Create a fundraising team: the team that brings in the most money (including race registration fees) gets a prize!

👟 1-Mile Fun Run

• Eligibility: Free for kids 9 and under who aren't ready for the 5K yet.
• Encouragement: Encourage healthy habits early by running or fast walking this 1-mile course.
• T-Shirt Registration: Register online by 9/24 to receive a t-shirt as a participation prize.
• Safety: Plan on wearing the race t-shirt provided at check-in for safety reasons.

🎉 Celebrate, Play, and Learn

• Activities: During the race, music and games are available for all participants and spectators to enjoy for free.
• Snacks and Drinks: Available for CASH purchase, benefiting The Bridge 2 Home or sponsoring organizations.
• Water Supply: Plenty of water provided for free.

📅 Registration Information

• Early Registration: Now through 9/24, register for $35: cost goes up to $40 on 9/25.
• Late Registration: 9/25 through race day.
• Check-In: 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. on race day in the park outside of Odell Weeks Activity Center.

🗺️ Race Course

• Start Location: Start at the Odell Weeks Activity Center (Virginia Acres Park), 1700 Whiskey Rd, Aiken, SC 29803.
• Course Details: The course is on paved streets in neighborhoods behind the park, mostly flat.
• Water Station: Water station will be at 1.5 mile mark.
• Safety Measures: Race directors and the Department of Public Safety will be stationed throughout the race and at intersections.
