SASS STRUT 5K

🏃‍♂️ SASS STRUT: Seriously Awesome Stroke Survivors Strutting To Recover Uplift & Thrive

• Purpose: THE SASS STRUT IS AN ANNUAL 5K FUN-RUN EVENT TO INCREASE AWARENESS ABOUT STROKE AND RAISE MONEY TO FUND STROKE REHAB IN MIDDLE TENNESSEE.
• Established: In 2016 Neuro Therapy Nashville started Seriously Awesome Stroke Survivors (SASS) as a dynamic support group for stroke survivors, their family, friends, caregivers, and others in the stroke community.
• Support: This year the 5K will support the Brain Injury and Stroke Charity of Tennessee (BISCT), a local non-profit that provides funding to stroke and brain injury survivors who cannot afford treatment.
• Goal: With your support, we can reach those with immediate need right here in Nashville.

🌟 Participation: OPEN TO ALL ABILITIES

• Inclusivity: THIS WALK, RUN, OR ROLL EVENT IS OPEN TO PARTICIPANTS OF ALL ABILITIES AND STROKE SURVIVORS IN VARIOUS STAGES OF RECOVERY.
• Course: SASS STRUT 5K features a scenic wooded paved trail that starts at the dock on Couchville Lake in Long Hunter State Park.
• Route: The course follows the Couchville Lake Trail around the lake, wrapping back through the starting point for a short out and back to hit the full 5K.
• Finish: Participants will finish the race at the starting point.

👟 Survivor Strut: A Shorter Loop for Limited Mobility

• Distance: There is a shorter loop available called the Survivor Strut, which starts at the same starting line as the full 5K.
• Mapping Progress: The Survivor Strut marks every 100 feet for 1000 feet to help Survivors of limited mobility map their progress.
• Total Distance: Completing the full Survivor Strut will be a total of 2000 feet.
• Encouragement: Survivors are also welcome and encouraged to walk/run/roll the full 5K if they are able.
