🏃♂️Event Overview
Fostering the Family is hosting our 5th Annual Fight for Families 5k Trail Run/Walk. Like last year, this race will be held at the beautiful Allison Creek Park and will bring awareness to the local foster and adoption crisis. While this race is a true 5k, it will also have some elements that offer an interactive insight into the life of a child traveling through the child welfare system. Join us as we experience the reality of foster care and come together as a community to bring about change!
📅Important Dates
- Packet Pickup: Friday night October 18, 2024 at Papa Doc's from 4-7 pm.
- Race Day Pickup: 7:45-8:45 am on race day.
- Race Start Time: 9 am.
- Awards Ceremony: 10:15 am.
🚦Race Details
- Interactive Stations: Available from 8-9 am before the race.
- Water Stations: Two water stations during the race.
- Timing: Timed by both male and female divisions per age category.
- For All Ages: 5k race designed for participants of all ages.
👶Children's Activities
- Scavenger Hunt: For ages 3-10 at 8:00 am.
- Team InsaneShayne: Join local YouTube Content Creator for the 5K.
- Meet & Greet: With Shayne for Scavenger Hunt or 5k participants.
- Fundraising: Help raise money for the children of South Carolina.
🏆Awards and Recognition
Prizes will be awarded for race winners in each age category. Each runner will receive their time via text from Queen City Timing.
