Walk For Christ AND 5K with Home Run Derby

Join us for an exciting event that combines fitness, faith, and fun! Lace up your sneakers and get ready to run or walk for a good cause. The Walk For Christ AND 5K with Home Run Derby will take place at Pelham City Park located at 2020 Ball Park Road, Pelham, AL, USA. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just enjoy a leisurely stroll, this event is open to people of all ages and fitness levels. This race is organized by Pelham Strong with the help of the Kiwanis Club of Central Shelby County and the Liberty Learning Foundation. Virtual Participants: Will receive by mail the medal (5K or 1M) and event T-shirt. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place medals will be awarded to the fastest virtual times of both male and female participant categories IN THE 5K ONLY.

If you plan to register on-site: Registration will be Cashless (Credit Card Only), please plan to register prior to arriving to speed up the packet pick-up process.
For those who are not able to attend pre-race registration and packet pick-up, this will begin promptly at 7:00 AM on Saturday April 6, 2024 near the start/finish line at the Pelham City Park.
5K: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place medals will be awarded to the fastest times of both male and female participant categories.
Water Stop Stations: Located at the Start/Finish line and throughout the course.

Homerun Derby starts at 10 AM:
Participating hitters will need to provide their own helmets, helmets are mandatory. Bats of all sizes and types will be provided. You are permitted to bring your own bat, but ALL bats will be inspected to make sure they meet typical league regulation standards (18+ = ONLY WOODEN BATS). There are only 15 slots per age bracket for the 14-15, 16-17, and 18+. Each participant will receive 1 minute to hit as many home runs as possible, and each participant will be able to take one 30 second break at any point during their 1 minute. Your age will be based on the age as of the day of the event on April 6, 2024. ALL pitches will come from a pitching machine. All rounds will take place on Field 4 at the Pelham City Park.
Cancellation Statement: Your entry fee is non-refundable. This event will occur rain or shine, warm or cold. We reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances. In that event, there will be no refunds, rather, your entry fee will be used as a donation to the Liberty Learning Foundation.
All proceeds from this event will go to the Liberty Learning Foundation. Liberty Learning Foundation is a non-profit organization facilitating active civics and character programs in K-12 classrooms and orchestrating immersive events that empower schools, parents, local leaders, and businesses to take ownership of the future of the community and country.
