- Background: Staff Sergeant Christopher Slutman was not only a loving husband, father, son and brother but he was also a FDNY Firefighter.
- Tragic Loss: Sadly, while serving in the Marines, he was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.
- Avid Runner: Chris was an avid runner with his wife Shannon.
- Honor Our HERO: Join us in honoring this American HERO by running or walking in his honor.

- Charity Event: All funds from the event will be donated to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
- Mission: This foundation supports the families of fallen or catastrophically injured military and first responders.
- Global War on Terrorism Memorial: Donations also support the Global War on Terrorism Memorial Foundation.
- Objective: This foundation is building a memorial to honor our heroes on the National Mall.
